Historia
For years now, win-win has been the paradigm for business negotiation. But today, win-win is just the seductive mantra used by the toughest negotiators to get the other side to compromise unnecessarily, early, and often. Win-win negotiations play to your emotions and take advantage of your instinct and desire to make the deal. Start with No introduces a system of decision-based negotiation that teaches you how to understand and control these emotions.

The Undisputed Standard Bearer for Effective Negotiation.
Revisado: 04-16-25
Getting to No: How to Negotiate Your Way to Yes" isn't just another negotiation audiobook; it's the foundational text upon which countless others have been built. After listening to this, it became clear to me that at least three other negotiation books I've read have essentially echoed and expanded upon the core principles first articulated here. This isn't a criticism, but rather a testament to the profound impact and enduring wisdom of this work.

Historia
Think of The War of Art as tough love...for yourself. Since 2002, The War of Art has inspired people around the world to defeat "resistance"; to recognize and knock down dream-blocking barriers and to silence the naysayers within us. Resistance kicks everyone's butt, and the desire to defeat it is equally as universal. The War of Art identifies the enemy that every one of us must face, outlines a battle plan to conquer this internal foe, then pinpoints just how to achieve the greatest success.

Historia
As high achievers, we’ve been conditioned to believe that the path to success is paved with relentless work. That if we want to overachieve, we have to overexert, overthink, and overdo. That if we aren’t perpetually exhausted, we’re not doing enough. But lately, working hard is more exhausting than ever. And the more depleted we get, the more effort it takes to make progress. Stuck in an endless loop of “Zoom, eat, sleep, repeat”, we’re often working twice as hard to achieve half as much.

Nothing groundbreaking
Revisado: 04-30-21
Let me start by saying I am a fan of Essentialism. Though the advice in this book is good, the concepts are not original. If you've devoted time to adopting a productivity system the concepts and themes in Effortless will likely not be new or groundbreaking. This book is a mishmash of productivity classics such as: Checklist Manifesto, 7 Habits, GTD and Getting Results the Agile Way with the addition of entertaining short stories and amusing historical references. If you are looking to go beyond being entertained to actually enhancing your productivity this book is not for you.

Historia
Creative work doesn't come with a guarantee. But there is a pattern to who succeeds and who doesn't. And engaging in the consistent practice of its pursuit is the best way forward. Based on the breakthrough Akimbo workshop pioneered by legendary author Seth Godin, The Practice will help you get unstuck and find the courage to make and share creative work. Godin insists that writer's block is a myth, that consistency is far more important than authenticity, and that experiencing the imposter syndrome is a sign that you're a well-adjusted human.

How the world's leading innovators push their ideas to fruition, time and time again. Edison famously said that genius is 1 percent inspiration, 99 percent perspiration. Ideas for new businesses, solutions to the world's problems, and artistic breakthroughs are common, but great execution is rare. According to Scott Belsky, the capacity to make ideas happen can be strengthened by anyone willing to build their organizational habits and harness the forces of community.

Just okay
Revisado: 01-26-19
Nothing new or novel. The book is a brain dump of the author’s thoughts on productivity. It covers individual and team efforts but does not really share any secret sauce or recipes beyond common sense cliches. May have been a great read when it was first publishes but its relevance is so so for 2019
