The darkness has found her again. Daria’s new position, as a language tutor to the wealthy and charming merchant Lucas, takes her to the dazzling city of Ephesus on the Aegean coast. As their connection deepens, Daria finds herself drawn to Lucas, despite the evil and violence that churn beneath the city's beauty. EXPERIENCE THE EARLY CHURCH. Forced from her home after the stoning of Stephen and persecution of believers in Jerusalem, Libi and her family now live in the city of Antioch. Days pass quickly in a community where the oppressed are in great need, and Libi finds every opportunity to serve alongside other believers despite growing obstacles and a lack of resources. All of this leaves little time to think about what she has lost, or the growing desire in her heart for what she does not have. Cassius lives his life in the shadows after witnessing the impossible and deserting the Roman Army as a...

Good Story Line

I enjoyed the references in the beginning of each chapter. Helpful for determining historical links. Fictional but plausible story line. I will refer this book to the members of my book club.

Historia
Have you ever wondered what it would have been like to be one of the 5,000 when Jesus multiplied the fish and the loaves? Or one of his disciples when he walked on water? Or to have seen Lazarus come out of the tomb? Ever wonder what Mary thought when Gabriel told her she was pregnant by the Holy Spirit, or what the fallout was like in her personal life? Ever considered how those two disciples felt on the road to Emmaus, when they found that the man with whom they had been talking was in fact their risen Lord?

This writer filled my heart and mind with joy. The story woven around Hagar is excellent. I was unaware of the possibility of her being royalty but now after doing a little research on my own I choose to believe the historians regarding how Abraham could lie and gained so much even in his lie.

Historia
The iconic Saint Paul - in his lifetime a scholar, prosecutor for the high court of the Jews, accomplice in murder, adventurer, traveler, orator, writer, advocate, and organizer of a new faith - was in fact a Jewish-Hellenistic citizen of the Roman Empire, a man who by the force of his intellect and indomitable will changed the course of history. Eventually he became the leader of the movement that delivered the social and moral authority of Christianity to a pagan world.

Paul’s character
Revisado: 12-26-22
I enjoyed the approach to Paul’s character. His early actions w/Stephen and the people of The Way should have caused me to consider these traits would have continued to surfaced in his daily dealings. Enjoyable fiction…
