Ho hum, whst am I in the mood for tonight. Maybe a good mystery or psychological thriller but wait, there's one I've never heard of and decided to read it, Cold Turkey .perhaps you will too. A horrific journey woven with such loving determination and honestly that it screws the old cliché
Hope firmly in place.

I’m not sure I would guessed King. Stephen King tells stories like, “gather around. Children and you shall hear”, He feeds me , my imagination like my mother tucking me in bed. It’s his dna and no matter what peril his travelers are in, he holds them tightly. Women can hold their own and often outrun , outwit baddies :but this was almost too girly. I may be alone in my opinion and as a woman I’m well aware of the unconscionable , deadly situations that spouses suffer and the story had many good get you back scenes but I don’t know, I didn’t say once, ah, there’s the Master. Entertaining, yes but ..

A first for me, a crime and suspense devotee but two innately funny and talented hosts play perfectly off each as they unroll the weirdest, most twisted tale of small town spousal splintering in small town USA.. Try it, you might like it !

A Christmas Saga..

Of course hose to to red this this just days before Christmas but it’s doubtful I would put it down feeling any differently.
I think it was having an entire group of characters so depressingly immobilized by lack of self that neither Dr Phil or Freud could have shed any enlightenment on this pathetic group. Why did I continue to torture myself ? I guess because it was an easy read and well written, almost comic book style.
I love sad novels, not as a steady diet but but they don’t come much heartbreaking than my heroine Anne Frank.
This pitiful gaggle isincapable of common sense or any sense.

I love dark gothic, gory detective who done its but this fits into no exciting form I’ve ever read, such a dumb convoluted plot with a cast of unlikeable , unbelievable characters that I skipped through the last repulsive pages.
I like Slaughter’s books and have never found her sex or violence offensive but this didn’t require the talent of good writer just an attempt to see if readers will pay for trash..

A true artist is not afraid to stretch, to think outside the box. Not only does King often do this but he and his son share this high wire act of coming and going in each other’s head while moving the storyline. It’s a seamless adventure by the royal family !

Did someone say you had to appreciate their work at one sitting. 12 or16 hours, Yikes ! Doesn’t the dog have to go out . I love being told story’s especially by a reader who also loves the story. When it takes place in tiny Maine nugget, you’re unhappy with a natives accent. This book is King, yes different but it comes alive with gKing sharing a spectrum of his private feelings and probably is the closest we’ll get to knowing the master, it’s a gift..

I sorry fans of this kind mystery/ thriller, I got the by mistake", knowing after the first chapter when every voice sounded the same and adult dialog , this team of sleuths would have trouble finding missing erasers even using their magic case solver, Facebook.
But are all poor English girls slow, it might be all the tea they drink. I read or listen to a book a day and the fault is mine for getting into what ? Are these big people books or did I get into the third graders summer reading list.
