The continuation of Albert Smith and Rex
Revisado: 02-16-25
First I'd like to comment how wonderful it was to listen to Charles Robert Fox again. The bots VV are a poor substitute for talent.
I had no idea where the storyline was going to go after the Culinary Capers. This adventure is fantastic!

Higgs is a master in storyline development.
Revisado: 02-15-25
The wonderful way Higgs weaves characters from his other series through the plot is a testimony to his master story telling abilities.
The Vietual Voice narrator is better than the one used for a recent Albert Smith story but is still lacking as compared to the real thing!
I'm looking forward to the story's continuation in the next Felicity book as well as the Blue Moon stories with Jane.

Albert and Rex are going to the palace. It’s the day the Kings' birthday honour list recipients get their knighthoods, but like everywhere else they go, there is trouble to be found. With his three children and youngest granddaughter, Apple-Blossom, in tow, Albert is a little embarrassed by the lavishness of the affair. Yet all that is forgotten when he spots a man he knows. A man guilty of murder. A man who can only be at the palace for one thing. But Albert is about to be presented to the king, now is not the time to be chasing criminals. I guess that's why he's Rex's sidekick. Step ...

The timing up of some of the storyline short comings and wanting to hear of future adventures.
Revisado: 02-11-25
It was pleasing to hear the tieing up of some of the storyline shortcomings and wanting to hear of future adventures. However computer generated narration (better than expected) lacked the comfortable English accent and pronunciation of the live narrators in earlier titles. Why couldn't an Englishman's voice be used? (Heck I liked the seemingly older guys!)
The story line was good and didn't necessarily stop the adventures of Albert and Rex.

Favorite Author Does It Again!
Revisado: 06-17-23
Love the way Steve Higgs paints pictures or action boards on your mind. This series about a high society widdowed wedding planner in her late 50's describes the politics, trials, tibulations and, most importantly, the antics of families and staff necessary to produce weddings at this (or any other) level of society.
The Epilogue in Albert Smith's Culinary Capers, Recipe 11, Kent Coast Oyster Obliteration references the Story in Felicity Philips, Book 5, Wedding Ceremony Woes. I love the way these stories are woven together.
Initially the narrator Katherin Anderson's voice pitch was difficult as it was so high and I felt unsettling; but, by the time I got into the books more, well.... This gal is a genius! Her ability to represent the uppitiness, smugness, obedient compliness, and every other characteristic known is outstanding. I was particularly impressed by the bar scene with Felicity's drunken sister.

Great Parallel Story
Revisado: 09-20-22
The reader has a pleasant voice and is easy to listen to. The occasional playback stuttering is a bit disrupting. The story-- well the story nicely fills in some blanks that other Bluemoon Investigation books have left and I really enjoyed learning about the life of another character in the series.

Americans spend billions of dollars on gluten-free diets in an effort to protect their health. But what if we’ve been missing the root of the problem? Joyous, fast and funny, Scott Johnston’s Campusland is a satiric howl at today’s elite educational institutions - from safe spaces to tribal infighting to the sheer sanctimony. A wickedly delightful audiobook that may remind you of Tom Wolfe and David Lodge.

Hard to listen.
Revisado: 10-08-19
Each sentence is read ending on a low note. The stress on the punctuation is strong enough to signify a chapter end. It's distracting.
The story line is wickedly good. It points out what a mess the system is in for all the wrong reasons. Status is everything.
