Must read! It was so affirming to know- it’s not me! And I’m not my ADHD, but gave me skills and organizational ways that are simple and easy for my brain. I’ve seen more of how ADHD affects my life and become kinder to myself. I know I just need different supports in certain areas - ask for helps with my weaknesses and ask focus on strengthening my strengths - this book pointed those out took. Must read!!!

It took me over a year to get through the first part of the book, not because of the writing, but because of my own relation to the book. Once I did conquer that, my spirituality and understanding of life around me increase so much. I cried and I laughed out loud and send me a book and do that - it’s a great time.

I always hear something new. It is a book I go back to time and time again. Even though it’s not been Stewart talking I can still hear him in the dialect and it’s a great book and a must-read for anybody at any stage: practical advice, biblical references to uphold the ideas in this book and it is encouraging.

As a 30 something, I needed this

I needed to hear the lessons in this book and be reminded of what I should or did pick up in my early years. A must give to every graduate, middle schooler - young adult. Wish I had read this at 9. Love the accompanying pdf - amazing addition and thoughtful of the audio reader.

Title alone, life changing

Perfectionist or burnt out, this is the book for you. You have nothing to prove. Each chapter starts with a bible verse told from one of the characters perspective- so well done, the Bible never felt so current and relevant.

Simple, short but powerful

May the Holy Spirit speak to you through this book as I experienced. A confirming understanding of what a wilderness season feels like and the true promises of a promise land. A new look at Israelites, Joshua and the fires that engulfed three men. This book gave me encouragement in the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

What did you love best about The Swan House?

A friend recommended this book to me and I wasn't sure about starting the book, but once I started the audible download and read the first chapter- I was hooked! I am from and live in Atlanta. I am 25 years old. I learned so much Atlanta history and really have such a better understanding of what and where my mom grew up. The story starts out with the main character talking to her daughter who is about to have child and then flashes back to her sophomore year. I really didn't know if I could get into a book with a character of my mom's generation and then following that character in her teens. I was hooked! I have never cried so hard and laughed out loud with a book as I did this audible listen. A must read!!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Oh boy, I don't know. I would have to say Mary Swan, the main character, for just that reason. I experienced so much with her through this story that I feel like we were high school friends.

What does Linda Stephens bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Wow, Linda Stephens attention to each character and her ability to give each character, even the least important, a distinct dialect and tone. I felt as if I had watched the characters in a movie and even felt myself catching the southern twang of the main character, Mary Swan.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

BOTH!! and it was very spiritual. My faith grew. If your not Christian faith based, I wouldn't say that would be a reason not to read this book- it is more about living life more kindly and boldly.

Any additional comments?

Especially with Linda Stephens as the narrator.. a must read! The storyline is surprising to the end.. I never knew where this story would end up and it was a wonderful ride! As soon as I finished it, I immediately started it over and am enjoying it all over again.
