This book surprised me. I didn't expect it to be so enjoyable. I guess because the characters seemed pretty believable and multi-dimensional. no one is one note. I would have liked a more rewarding ending (I'm a fan of a pair conceiving and even more of a fan of getting a look at them as parents, and this did not have that for me.) So I was a little disappointed. But glad I bought and listened.

Short read, but does it's job

I don't like when romance novels try and take themselves too seriously or take forever to get to the sex. This book does none of that and give you exactly what you came for. Naughty thrills and a decent respect for your intelligence, that doesn't tax it. perfect in my book. might look up the rest of the series.

It's a good straight forward romance. Not alot of fluff and unnecessary length. Now that said, I'm not fond of the angst through misunderstanding plot device. and I do wish we would have gotten a more complete ending. A little more detail on what happened after. Epilogue would have been nice. But I can't say I didn't enjoy it. So that's nice.

I fully enjoyed this story!

While it was heavy on the war content, that is a large facet of the story, so I can easily look past it. But the romance, the progression, the events themselves were near perfectly executed. And I'm highly satisfied with the conclusion. I recommend this.

This is exactly what a well written romance novel should be and I enjoyed it greatly. The only reason I might not continue the series, or read from this author again, is there was no pregnancy in this story. That's too important an aspect of a romance to be left out for me.

Good job, overall. Was missing a few things.

I normally am not a fan of 'human-like' vampires, or female leads with short hair, or domestic violence survival plot devices, but this had enough to let me look past that since it had rare things I did love. Such as several bisexual characters, a little sub/Dom action, and a simple story that didn't bog itself down too much. I'm on the fence about continuing the series because I saw no mention of a pregnancy in the near future and that's probably my biggest interest. So jury is out. Also would have liked to know why the biggest deal in the story (aka, why Jackson broke up with Micah) happened in the first place. that was never explained.

If you want a detailed lesson in assembling anatomic weapons and listing of every item for survival kit, this is just that. If I wanted survival lessons I'd have bought a book on that subject. This is boring and I could't even finish it. No entertainment value at all.

However I found this just as scary and downright creepy as his best. A cautionary tale for the times we now find ourselves in. Absolutely Great work.
