Is the rising number of abused women who've gone missing a statistical anomaly? Or is a serial killer targeting this vulnerable group of women? Thoroughly enjoyed this book!!

Abused women going missing at a statistically higher rate the “normal”. What’s going on? When these statistics are brought to the attention of the police, they are essentially ignored. What to do? This is my first experience with this author, and I found her writing excellent and the story compelling. I will watch out for more from her.

Excellent!
Revisado: 06-12-16
This is a different kind of love story, if you will. The setting is a small village in Greece. The main characters are Juliet, an English expat, and Aaman, an illegal from Pakistan. Their meeting and the development of their relationship is, of course, the crux of the story. But as I said above, this is a very “different” kind of love story. I will be searching out the others in this series, as I have a feeling the “saga” continues. 5 stars.

Historia
My name is Addison Holmes, and I teach history at James Madison High School in Whiskey Bayou, Georgia. You might be under the assumption that my life went to the dogs when my fiancé left me at the altar for the home economics teacher, or when I got notice that my apartment building was going to be condemned, or even when I was desperate enough to strip to my unmentionables to earn some extra cash. The truth is that I'm pretty much used to disasters following me around on a daily basis.

An okay story.

A little cozy mystery that was quite delightful, but I won’t purposefully seek out more. I found the main character quite irritating in the “dumb broad” kind of way even though the story did hold together fairly well. 3.5 stars.

Good story. Witness protection doesn’t always work, and when it doesn’t, people die. This is my second trip with Teresa Burrell, and I’m not sorry I took the time. While it wasn’t as tense as the books I usually read, there was enough there to hold my interest well. Again, I’ll read more of her as I bump into them. 4 stars.

Revisado: 03-31-16
Oh my! My heart was in my throat throughout this entire tale. Of course, it is the continuation of “Push Not the River”, and it captured me every bit as much as the first. The heartbreak of the Polish people during this time is undeniable. Yet their resilience is likewise undeniable. Onward now to the third in this series. I have a feeling that I will feel quite bereft once I have finished with them. 5 stars.

Historia
Push Not the River is the rich story of Poland in the late 1700's - a time of heartache and turmoil as the country's once peaceful people are torn apart by neighboring countries and divided loyalties. It is then, at the young and vulnerable age of seventeen, that Lady Anna Maria Berezowska loses both of her parents and must leave the only home she has ever known.

Revisado: 03-29-16
Amazing story. It says that it is based on the true eighteenth century diary of Anna Maria Berezowska, a Polish countess who lived through the rise and fall of the historic Third of May Constitution (late 1700s). It is high on intrigue, romance and war, with Poland ultimately being subdued and overrun by that great “Russian whore”, Katherine. It is a long tome and not at all my usual fare, but I will long remember this tale. 5 stars.

Not bad for a PI story. This one involves a missing person, and looking into that missing person leads to uncovering construction theft and bid rigging with a murder along the way. It was well-written and easy to follow, with a couple of twists. If I bump into more of these, I will give them a go. 4.5 stars.

Gripping tale!
Revisado: 03-22-16
Ok, I can start breathing again. You and your wife are in Glacier National Park when your 9 year old daughter goes missing, along with her beagle. Because of circumstances, an all-out, multi-agency search is commenced with FBI investigating possible foul play. You know the truth – except where your daughter is. You watch as the FBI makes one wrong call after another, and you wonder if those searching will find your daughter dead or alive. Throughout, we see snippets of the daughter’s trek – just enough to let us know she is indeed still alive. Throw into that mix a convicted child killer sentenced to death. I couldn’t sit still. A number of times I wanted to scream, to throw something. This is my first experience with Rick Mofina. I definitely want more. 5 stars.

Revisado: 03-20-16
When a bank loan underwriter is suspected of murder because two of her only two dates through a dating service wind up dead on the very nights of her dates, life gets interesting. Cindy Sample is a new author for me, and I found her writing to be entertaining and light, yet with enough questions and misdirection to keep it interesting. I will read more from this author. 4.5 stars.
