Great story but the characters relationship.....
Revisado: 04-30-25
basic premise of this book series is still good the enemies the characters the development their arcs all that's great. the one thing that absolutely makes my skin crawl however is the relationship between the tomboy tough girl in the wimpy main character. he needs to grow a pair he should have shagged this girl already it's the dumbest most unrealistic relationship I've ever read in my life. him calling down to her and acting like he's afraid of her and he can't talk it's mothers and stumbles, that's really stupid considering he's known this girl his entire life. he's known somebody for the 18 19 20 years he's been alive but he can't talk to her? I'm beginning to think the author of the series has never been with a girl before.
I really do like everything about the story that the combat encounters are great the basic premise and I like the characters except I hate a wimpy character that can't talk to people that is so ridiculous.

how many versions of this story they make?
Revisado: 08-25-24
I already have this story in two other books!!! One is a regularly narrated book and the other has this audio comic book style. This one has all the sound effect crap too. I'm getting a refund on this, don't need a third version of this damn story.

You want this one not the other book with this title. This is a regularly narrated book instead of all of the combat noises of the other book. I wish I had realized I was just getting a duplicate though. I'm not sure how to get a refund on this so I guess I get to eat it.

In the World-that-Was, Gotrek Gurnisson was a whirlwind of fury on a quest for redemption. In the Mortal Realms, he remains a whirlwind of fury on a quest for redemption - and where slaying the worst that the worlds of Warhammer have to offer is concerned, there's a lot to be said for consistency. Come along for the ride with the slayer himself with this collection of Gotrek audio dramas written by David Guymer.

What happened?
Revisado: 08-09-24
I don't like gotrek's voice. gotrick acts like he's retarded now he must have taken brain damage during the last thousand years fighting in the chaos for it or whatever place he was in. all the battle noises and the environmental audio, is way too damn loud. the background noises are so loud they try not to dialogue I don't want to hear a comic book I want to hear an audiobook. the backup noises are worse than the old Batman TV show where they flashed bam pal and crash on the screen with noises when they would fight. that end of its pretty ridiculous. wouldn't be so bad that the volume of the environmental and backup noises didn't drown out the primary audios the spoken dialog the character's voices. the worst thing of all is got Trek Caitlin and laughing like an idiot. again, he acts like he's mentally retarded now or something. the next book has got to be better than this or I'm done with the series

Historia
When Minalan the Spellmonger was exiled from his beloved mageland of Sevendor by Prince Tavard, his friend Duke Anguin made him Count Palatine of the Magelaw, a vast realm in the Alshari Wilderlands that Minalan is all too familiar with. After the goblin invasion, the province is devastated, ruined, and peopled almost only by freed slaves. But Minalan has brought his recovering wife and family into exile with him, and he views their impoverished fief as an opportunity to build a new City of Magi in the wilderness.

Historia
Just when Baron Minalan the Spellmonger figured out there was a slim chance to restore his mind-shattered wife Alya (if he's willing to journey to the undercaverns of Olum Seheri, the lair of Korbal the Necromancer), things start to go awry: not only does Prince Tavard, his unloved liege lord, decide to conduct an official state visit to Sevendor on pilgrimage to the Everfire on the Briga's feast day, but a mysterious seamage appears at his door with an intriguing offer from the Sea Folk who rule Callidore: They want to buy snowstone. An entire mountain of it.

Solid story and Characters
Revisado: 02-13-24
I'm very excited about this story and how it all ends. Narrator does a wonderful job juggling all of the characters. I am so happy to have found a well written story that is not woke, preachy and political.

Can't take anymore
Revisado: 05-19-23
I struggled to finish the 1st book in the series. Sadly, the 2 MCs that should have been killed by Skinner are still here. I take that back, Erin grew on me. I just can't put up with Ryoka's sour, hateful ass another moment. It's laughable that an endurance runner is also supposed to be the best fighter in the universe cause she took lessons. Writing style is good except for little too much filler, the conference call, and repeating lines. I'm not able to sit through Ryoka's crap anymore. Your 1st book took a 20 hour trial. I can't do it again on a 60 hour book. I might go back every once in a while but really need to move on to another series.

Historia
"No killing Goblins." So reads the sign outside of The Wandering Inn, a small building run by a young woman named Erin Solstice. She serves pasta with sausage, blue fruit juice, and dead acid flies on request. And she comes from another world. Ours. It's a bad day when Erin finds herself transported to a fantastical world and nearly gets eaten by a Dragon. She doesn't belong in a place where monster attacks are a fact of life, and where Humans are one species among many. But she must adapt to her new life. Or die.

Different style of writing, lack of a good editor
Revisado: 05-17-23
I have to be honest, this book took me a long time to finish. I usually finish at 12 to 14 hour book in two or three days. This book took me over a month to finish. the two main characters are very complicated which is refreshing. One is an annoying whiner and spoiled brat that thinks the the world cares what she thinks and should revolve around what she thinks. The runner, as I'll call her, is a real piece of work. She's a racist, bigoted, female chauvinistic, man-hating, spoiled brat that thinks she's better than everyone else and is mad at the world because her parents didn't buy her an easy bake oven when she was 10 years old. she's a rude piece of shit and some of the most unbelievable bullshit pulled up by any character is from this one. practicing a fighting style is not the same as actually fighting. first off a Japanese woman being 6'1 is silly anyways but a woman with a runners lanky thin physique holding her own in a fist fight with a Minotaur I thought was the stupidest thing I've ever read in my life. I hope this character gets killed in the most painful and glorious way possible. I'm going to shed tears of joy if it happens.
some good editing to weed out lots of repetition about the way characters feel would have sped things up a little bit. Author did a great job describing characters. but tended to go on and on about the feelings especially when something made the character sad. This in turn led to the very capable narrator resorting to a whiny crying voice way too often. I was relying on this book to help get me through midnight shift 13 hour days 7 days a week at a chemical plant shutdown. There or several times I was going to stop the book uninstall it and just find another series because I hated the two main characters that bad. the ending of the book was really strong and really good very cool. I'm hoping the next book continues at that pace and if it does we're going to have a winner series on our hands.
One thing I forgot to mention about the runner is a huge ignorance of her own nationality and cultures history. I really don't feel like getting lectured as a white person on colonial expansionism by someone's from a country whose ancestors were way worse at it and more horrible than almost anyone else and also started world war II. obviously none of that is paid on anybody today in our modern times because people alive today did not do those things back then. I didn't know if the author was trying to slip some politics in on me and they don't know their politics worth of shit or if the character is like some woke idiot that doesn't know political history for shit but, it's one of the two if not both. a warning for the author, I purchased two or three audiobooks a week I encounter this woke shit again that'll be the last book you sell to me.

The VIs' revolt succeeded. The digital beings took over the game world and ejected millions of players while keeping a few thousand trapped inside as their prisoners. In the real world, Oren Berman is recovering from the mental trauma of being trapped, tortured, and abruptly ejected. But the company has come to him, hat in hand, asking him to reenter the game world. With the entire NPC population arrayed against the trapped players, Oren and his clan of monsters might be their only hope.

Great performance yet the daughter....
Revisado: 02-25-23
Oren's daughter being a "Mary Sue" damn near ruins this story. She wrecks everything she attempts but can't beat the dwarf. Plot holes abound in this book. I'm hoping the next book fixes this glaring problem.
