Good GOD I cannot stop re-listening, send help

I’ve listened to over 100 romance books of all variety. (MF, MM, MFM, MMF, etc.) and this takes the cake for #1. I cannot stop re-listening. This + The Long Game (sequel to this story) are stories still I think about months later.

The characters feel viscerally real and the banter makes me LOL. The pining, the lust, the love, ah! There is hot spice throughout and it’s just the right amount to move the plot along while remaining fresh. There is a HFN ending that sets up The Long game which is the 6th book in the Game Changers series.

Advice: if you started the Game Changers series with this book and are dying for the rest of the story, you COULD skip straight to The Long Game. But I’d highly recommend reading at least Role Models (#5) beforehand. Even better if you read Tough Guy (#3) then Role Models before The Long Game. Characters from those two books feature in TLG and it will be more rewarding to have their stories.

Great narrators, sweet story but some pacing issues

The setup of the conflict was great and I loved the characters but ultimately, the payoff felt a bit flat. It’s a sweet story though and a fun listen. Was happy listening I won’t be listening again.

Ahh this was such a sweet, funny and sexy romance, I’m in love 🥰

This was my first MM romance and I could not stop listening. The narrators are fantastic and the story is both heartwarming and sexy with just enough angst to keep me riveted. I found myself smiling and laughing out loud throughout the book. Can’t wait to listen to the next one!

This compilation of stories is 100% worth the listen for the ones about our original favorite 4. Omg so hot AND heart wrenching. The Tess / Ryan ones were sweet but not nearly as exciting.

Incredible story, brilliant narration

My expectations were low for a prequel but omg this might be my favorite book in the series. The character development, the magic system, the relationship dynamics are all done so beautifully.

I read this after book 3 which was perfect.

This series just keeps getting better 😍

After such compelling strong male main characters in the first two books, I was thrown at first by this one because he was so different. But he grew on me and now I this might be my favorite couple of the series. Incredible expansion of the series story arc, might have to read the 4th book because it’s not available on audio yet. This whole series is so beautifully written and the audio is a joy to listen to with the accents and pacing.

Love both the female and male main characters! Beautifully written and well balanced between the fantasy and romance. World-building was well paced and captivating. A rare gem of the fantasy romance genre free from overdone tropes.

Advice to start using immediately! Delightful and practical.

Highly effective and practical tips derived from both science and the author’s own careful study of human encounters. This is advice for anybody who wants to have more success in their daily interactions with other people, whether it is in dating, at work or at the grocery store. I really appreciated the detailed explanation of seemingly small behaviors that can make a big difference in improving one’s social graces. I also appreciated the underlying message that is reinforced throughout the anecdotes: people who take deliberate care in their interactions with others are more successful at getting what they want, whatever that may be.

One minor caveat - a few sentiments and topics are dated. There are some cringey gender role references throughout the book that fall flat in today’s culture but are otherwise harmless. There is also a short section on answering machine etiquette which I actually found to be a fun throwback.

Starts a tad slow but is WORTH IT

Michelle starts way back in her childhood. At first, this seems a bit indulgent but soon, the importance of understanding details of her early years is clear and you are rewarded with a fantastic, inspiring story that could easily motivate you to go make an impact in the world. I listened on 1.25 speed and it was perfect.
