Truly Awful Narration
Revisado: 04-19-25
I am so sorry that Audible has chosen to take the cheap way out and use virtual voice. Too many mispronounced errors! Flat and boring tone. Unfortunately I cannot review the story - voice ruined it. Writers should refuse robotic reading of their novel. So disappointed. There is a reason why performers need to read these books. Horrible.

Historia
It was four o'clock in the morning. A young woman pushed through the hospital doors. Staff would later say they thought the woman was a new mother, returning to her child - and in a way, she was. She walked into the nursery, where a baby girl lay sleeping. The infant didn't wake when the woman placed her gently in the shopping bag she had brought with her. There is CCTV footage of what happened next, and most Australians would have seen it, either on the internet or the news.

I LOVED this book. Beautifully performed and touching to the point of tears! So much love - a family struggling to make sense of their lives, yet being together to the end. Five 🌟 stars to this author, a gifted, empathic story teller!

Historia
It’s autumn in Maine, and the town lawyer Bob Burgess has become enmeshed in an unfolding murder investigation, defending a lonely, isolated man accused of killing his mother. He has also fallen into a deep and abiding friendship with the acclaimed writer, Lucy Barton, who lives down the road in a house by the sea with her ex-husband, William. Together, Lucy and Bob go on walks and talk about their lives, their fears and regrets, and what might have been. Brimming with empathy and pathos, TELL ME EVERYTHING is Elizabeth Strout operating at the height of her powers.

No Elizabeth, No!
Revisado: 01-01-25
What a bitty, snippy, variety show, unless some other plan for Olive Kitteridge can be devised, maybe she should retire. She sits on the sidelines as a grumpy grandma. Why? The only character with any strength in his backbone is Bob Burgess. I love this author and I love Olive in her other novels, but this one feels like snippets That landed on the editing floor and were strung together to make this book! Wasted my precious credit!

Historia
When the call came it seemed like the answer to my prayers. My career as a voice actor had been over for months and me and my little girl Scarlet were living back at my mum’s place. I felt like a failure professionally—and with Scarlet having problems at school, as a parent as well. So, when I was asked to narrate a new book by disappeared novelist Philippa Roberts I jumped at the chance, even if it meant leaving Scarlet with my ex, Hugo, for a few weeks. Hugo, with his perfect new home and his perfect new girlfriend Saskia. But this isn’t a dream come true. It’s a nightmare.

Historia
Edi and Ash have been best friends for over forty years, a bond formed by a lifetime of memories. Since childhood they have seen each other through life's milestones: stealing vodka from their parents, REM concerts, unexpected Scottish wakes, marriages, infertility, children. As Ash notes, 'Edi's memory is like the back-up hard drive for mine.' When Edi is diagnosed with the final stages of terminal ovarian cancer, she makes the painstaking decision to leave behind her husband and son to move to a hospice down the road from Ash.

Truly Beautiful story, beautifully narrated.
Revisado: 11-07-24
I expected to be sad, tearful, morose when I read the subject matter. But was really surprised by Joy. Joy in living, friendship, family, loving and the raw truth of being with and staying with, someone else who is passing from Life to Death. Read it, listen to it, before you have to go through the experience yourself, so you are unafraid and well equipped when you are privileged enough to be the chosen one. When a book is well narrated, there is no difference the author, narrator and the reader’s experience! Perfect!

Embarrassing Cliche from start to finish!
Revisado: 08-24-24
Really? Is this meant to be erotica, drama or a story about how not to deal drugs? Characters weak and undeveloped. Unnecessarily racist and overuse of the ‘N’ word.
Beyond boring- I kept waiting for some depth but the characters, like the plot, fizzled to death with a whimper! Glad it was free so I didn’t have to demand my money back!

Whiny narration, unbelievable plot and way way too long! I have purposely not read one of this author’s books due to boredom, but this one was a concession. Bored to death!
