Historia
Liv’s happy with life in her thirties. She has two cats, one BFF, and no boyfriend, which is just how she likes it. Plus, she loves working at a not-for-profit software company where she can be her authentically autistic self. This is her happy ever after. But when her beloved firm merges with a repulsive rival, Liv finds herself competing with her sort-of-ex for the top job. Sure, Finn had been Liv’s best friend, with his nerdy good looks and their shared love of Tolkien, but there was that one night, their song, and … well, she doesn’t like to talk about it.

Cute Story
Revisado: 04-13-25
It is a cute story and an enjoyable listen. It’s good to be exposed to some of the ways autism is for people, and showed how the characters dealt with honoring their needs in everyday life—all while resolving the story’s conflicts by the end of the book. It’s a solid listening choice.

Historia
Delaney Markham has a special talent. Not only does she see dead people, she hears them. By the way, communicating with tormented spirits all day, every day really puts a kink in your love life. With no romantic entanglements to speak of, Delaney is free to use her gifts by holding seances to pay the bills. Except things go off the rails when she meets one unbelievably infuriating ghost, and as her luck would have it, he seems determined to hang around, like all the time!

Gave Up in Chapter 7
Revisado: 04-12-25
While this author is good at writing snarky dialogue and I usually enjoy her stories, this one I didn’t enjoy by chapter 7 so I’m giving up. If the MC had shut her trap long enough to let the main male character/entity say why he was there, we could have been spared multiple chapters of him appearing and trying to tell her why he is there, her vanquishing him by burning his eyes with a crystal, repeat and repeat some more. All those words and time yet no story progress. Ugh.

His grandmother isn’t able to finish the book and Dov promised he’d complete it so fans won’t be disappointed—a task that’s harder than he ever imagined.

Historia
Iris Nightingale is more than okay. She has her life planned out to a perfect schedule. Work, run, sleep, repeat. She spends her quiet Friday nights sitting alone on a bench in the park, trying to push back the memories that no amount of running can help her escape. But one evening, there’s someone else on her bench - Hunter. Tall, wry and infuriating: everything about him gets under Iris’s skin. Little does she know that he's about to upset more than just her routines...

Title Should Be “Iris is a Miserable Human Being—RUN FAR, FAR AWAY!”
Revisado: 08-16-24
I’ve wasted an hour on this so far and DESPISE Iris. Other reviews say there’s eventual redemption but at this point I do not care. She needs intensive therapy and possibly pharmaceutical assistance but since she apparently has been like this for 3 years already, she isn’t likely to take action to improve her situation.

Nice Mystery Set in Middle Ages
Revisado: 01-05-24
This is the first book I’ve read/listened to by this author, although I see this is the 5th book in a series. The author gave backstory in a smooth way, such that I did not feel hampered by my lack of knowledge from the previous books nor did it interfere with my enjoyment of this book. Solid story and next I’m going back to start reading the first book in the series.

Really Conflicted About Chess
Revisado: 04-30-21
Maybe it's because I've been binging this series but I'm so sick of Chess' constant inner monologue of what a piece of trash she is, she wishes she were gone (dead), etc. Okay, she's trash, shut up about it and further the story! Between that and the constant thinking about her pills, being out of it because of her being high or wanting to be high, and...... Yeah, I get it, she had a painful past and that is how she copes but I read for entertainment and her annoying, life-encompassing addiction and self-loathing aren't entertaining; they have become so much of the story that they can't be overlooked and are seriously detracting from my enjoyment of the story. Yes, we get it, an addict's (or "junkie slut", as she calls herself) life sucks. No one wants to wallow in it ad nauseum and with this book I have officially reached that point.
My conflict comes because the writing is pretty good. No, I no longer care what happens to Chess--hey, if she doesn't care about herself, why should I waste my time caring either?--but the author has only 1 other book on audible; fortunately she does have other books elsewhere about other characters than Chess so I'm looking forward to checking them out.

Historia
When Anna wakes up from a coma after a car crash, she discovers life has gone on without her. Her husband has been unfaithful - with her best friend - and she’s been long since replaced at work. While her old life is a distant memory, her new life feels like an empty shell. Then she meets the stranger who saved her life during the crash, and he changes everything. Leif Larsen - tattooist, joker, and player - has his own scars thanks to the crash that put Anna in a coma. Helping her move on from her failed marriage, and create a new life, sounds like a perfect distraction.

Sucked Me In, Ending Felt Rushed
Revisado: 04-18-21
This story absolutely sucked me in from the beginning. It built slowly and the author absolutely had me invested in the characters and caring what happened to them.
The only thing that felt jarring was the ending seemed to suddenly come up from left field and tie everything up in a bow suddenly. Granted, there was an event that could have brought sudden clarity to the main female character who had been a ditherer in denial about the relationship but it took the story from a flowing vibe to a jarring, sudden right turn to wrap everything up in a neat bow. It felt rushed, but the good part of that is that it meant I had been hoping for a slower fleshing out of their relationship to reach the same denouement. That is good writing and I'll definitely be looking for more titles from this author.
