Needed a good editor
Revisado: 02-23-25
Good story and characters. I'm having vision problems, and welcomed the chance to try an AI narrator. I was surprised at how listenable this was. But a sharper editor could have caught the mispronunciations in the first book so they wouldn't have been repeated throughout. (mostly in gun descriptions such as 30 dash zero 6 instead of 30 aught six, and cal read as calories instead of cartridge). Also "Hell of a .. " was pronounced hell- loffa. Minor error, but repeated inn all volumes.

Ellie swerves to avoid him — and slams head-on into the crash barrier. Days later, Ellie wakes up in hospital — and notices there’s something different. Everyone she looks at — the doctor, the nurse, her friend Carole — is surrounded by a coloured aura. Her near-death experience seems to have given her a new ability. And now Ellie must use her new-found gift to catch a killer.

What a wonderful first novel!
Revisado: 06-30-24
This story had a unique premise, and likeable characters. I enjoyed every minute of it, and upon finishing, immediately looked for more in the series. Now that I know it is 20 years old and only now released for publication I realize that book 2 may be all the series there'll be. Even so, I'll read the next one and be thankful for another romp with these engaging characters. The narrator was excellent, voiced the different characters very well.

Where is the lake?), and his sudden urge to sit in every box he sees, he wonders if he'll ever see Cassie or Jerry again.

Couldn’t finish, although it seemed to be a good book. I often dose off when listening at night, so have to go to the chapter list and choose the previous chapter to re-listen and catch up with what had happened. With no list of chapters, I had to give up on this audiobook because of this format.

Historia
With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

I’ve read a lot of WW2 tales, but never has an author caused me to feel the pain of living thru the occupation by ones enemy as this book presents it. I recommend.

Historia
The victims are all found face-down in the murky waters of the creek that runs through Cherokee Pointe, Tennessee. They are naked, except for the black satin ribbon tied around their necks. And each murdered woman shares a single characteristic... they are all redheads... Socialite Reve Sorrell has come to Cherokee Pointe seeking answers about her family history and her shocking connection to wrong-side-of-the-tracks Jazzy Talbot. With their stunning good looks and shining red hair, the two are mirror images of each other—twins abandoned at birth and raised in very different worlds.

Disappointed
Revisado: 06-23-23
First book in the series was a good mystery. Second in the series not as good. This (#3) in the series I quit in the fourth chapter. Too much gratuitous sex, too graphic for romantic sex, not graphic enough for erotic sex.

Awful

The main character Lucy is so annoyingly vague. She never learns from past mistakes, she makes instant negative judgments of those around her, including those she supposedly loves. I’m tired of weak, stupid women characters.
