Great Narration!! Not my Fave Story from Rina

This makes me so sad to say I really didn't like this. I was very excited for it and really did go in with an open mind. I was very curious about Gareth, but for multiple reasons this was just not for me.

First though, the narration and production was truly 10/10. Rina always has fantastic audios and this being full cast duet narration was perfect. I loved having some of our LOG faves come back with cameos too!

So then on to the story. My first and major issue with this book was that there was no plot. We didn't get ANY sort of plot until like 65% and even that was over fairly quickly. So I would say it was like 20% plot, 80% spice. And sometimes that works, but for this it didn't. It was literally just back and forth with them and it got old. The plot we did get was honestly great so I would have loved more of it.

I also think the characters were just a bit of a mess. Gareth was so all over the place. It was a struggle being in his head, especially at the beginning for me. His inner monologue about how full of himself he was just was not working for me lol. And then Kayden, I just felt like we didn't get to know him at all? Like especially at the beginning I just didn't get him or his actions considering his background.

And their dynamic was just off to me. There are many things about it I didn't like that would be spoilery so I won't get into it, but I just honestly didn't think they made a whole lot of sense together. This just didn't feel like it fit with the whole Rinaverse as someone who has read and enjoyed all the books. Like it pains me to rate this so low, I have never given a Rina book less than 3 stars before.

If I had to sum this up, it felt like it was just dark spice for the sake of being able to call this a dark and spicy MM romance and was just used to set up the next books. Which okay, if that's what Rina wanted to do then great! But for this length of a book I need so much more. At times in the second half I did enjoy them together and they had their sweet moments, but still didn't make up for all the other stuff.

If this is going to be the style of this series, not sure how far I will get with it, but willing to give her next couple a shot still! Hope they are better.

All my original thoughts stand!! These two were so fun on audio and the narrators were perfect for them. Having the absolute best time rereading this series on audio!

Nikki Castle doesn't miss! I just love this world so much and Aiden and Dani were so fun together. These two meet while on campus on day and end up sneaking onto a roof for some fun ;) They both are not looking for anything serious, especially Dani with her being against relationships, so they decide to just have some fun together, becoming friends with benefits.

Aiden is probably one of my favorite book boyfriends as of late. I loved how he treated Dani and just overall was a good guy. He just made me smile and I feel like he could be such a great friend in real life. But also was the perfect alpha male in bed! The chemistry between these two was on fire! Like seriously from Ch 2 on, the heat never stopped. And I mean, I was not expecting what happened in Ch 8...so spicy!!

I will say I did get a bit frustrated with Dani at times, and I didn't relate to her as much as I have some other heroines, but I think seeing her character arc made it that much more satisfying in the end. She is such a badass though and I wish I could be more like her in ways!

Overall my heart is still with Tristian and Remy, but I just can't get enough of this series and 3 Count was so good. I can't express enough how much y'all need to pick this series up!

One of my Fave Friends to Lovers 😍

Dare I say these was even better on an audio reread?!? I rated this 4.5 stars the first time, probably just because 5 Rounds will always be my favorite. But I give this audio 5 stars easily!! I love Jax and Hailey so so much.

Gosh I forgot how much I hated Steve. The way he manipulated Hailey was so awful and those first few chapters of her realizing it were hard to read in some ways. But also those aspects truly were so well done. And I loved the role that Jax had in all of that! He was always there for Hailey and tried to be exactly what she needed. He pushed her to stand up for herself and figure out what she truly wanted.

And I mean, hearing that first "baby girl" had me completely swooning! These two are hotttt and I loved the emphasis Nikki Castle gave us with Hailey taking what she wanted in bed. It was great for her self confidence and Jax was absolutely perfect for her. He is truly husband material!

The audio was sooo good! I will say that at times the MMC's voice was pretty quiet, so I had to turn up the volume a bit lol but otherwise Emma Wilder and JF Harding were a perfect Hailey and Jax. I'm having the best time rereading this series on audio and I can't wait for the next one!

My favorite of the series 😍

I loved this one!! Definitely my favorite of the series and I'm so glad Melanie Harlow gave us Joe and Mabel's story!!

I knew from the very first chapter I would love this. Their meet cute is hilarious and so original. Of course after that whole situation they would end up at the same wedding. Why not have a night of some fun??!! And of course this night ends up in a pregnancy, which I thought was done so well.

I loved how they both handled everything with such grace and how this brought them together to form an amazing friendship. I think developing that friendship led to having a great foundation for their love. It was perfect.

With Mabel being the baby of the family, I loved seeing her have her moment and get her love story. She loved this baby from the start and was ready to be a mom and you could just feel that she would be the best mom there is. She was strong but also so fun and just that person who would be a great friend!

And Joe! He definitely wasn't expecting any of this. And honestly didn't ever want a baby and wife. Especially at this time in his career. But I loved how he took care of Mabel and wanted to provide for her in any way he could. And he really stepped up and ended up being that rock that Mabel needed to start their family. And I mean, they had great chemistry and he was good in bed too haha.

This was overall just a fantastic conclusion to this series. I wouldn't say you need to read this series in order, and while this one is my favorite, I highly recommend them all! The audiobook was amazing, Connor Crais fantastic as always and Kirsten Leigh did a great job!

Emotional and Angsty but their love was worth it!!

This was phenomenal. It has been a while since I got this emotional about a book but I loved these two so dang much. The audio was fantastic and I loved the additional content in the 5th anniversary edition.

Loved it! Highly recommend!

This was the perfect Tristian and Remy!!

Reread on audio and this was just as good as I remembered!

The banter, the tension, the hate-to-love, the spice....it all worked so well. Remy was such a strong character. I love that she fought (literally at the gym) with the boys, she gave her sass to Tristian and never backed down from him. I also related a lot to her work struggles and realizing she doesn't need to be a workaholic and she needs to find something she enjoys.

But Tristian....he was perfect. He was such a dirty talker and knew how to get Remy out of her own head and let lose a bit. He had a lot more depth than Remy originally thought and they ended up being perfect for each other. And even when they got together, they still had the perfect banter and didn't put up with each other's shit so I felt like they stayed true to who they were and didn't lose their personalities and individuality in each other.

I loved listening to this so much. Both narrators were perfect for Tristian and Remy. Already want to reread again. Highly recommend this underrated book/series!

Great Narrators, Okay Small Town Romance

Some of my favorite narrators so the performance was great! But the story wasn't for me. Very much insta-love and marketed as enemies to lovers but they weren't really enemies haha. But still check it out if you love Laura and are interested!
