Historia
Heart disease is the number-one killer. However, traditional heart disease protocols - with their emphasis on lowering cholesterol - have it all wrong. Emerging science is showing that cholesterol levels are a poor predictor of heart disease and that standard prescriptions for lowering it, such as ineffective low-fat/high-carb diets and serious, side-effect-causing statin drugs, obscure the real causes of heart disease. The Great Cholesterol Myth reveals the real culprits of heart disease.

Great book

Very informative and made me realize how accurate information can be hidden with percentages. Old discoveries should be researched by new discoveries. Technology, myths, nutrition and pharmaceutical drugs change over time with new discoveries.

Amazing
Revisado: 03-12-24
This was a very good audible book. From the story line to the actors reading the dialogue. Highly recommend for those who want to know more about the tragic times that the Jews and Gypsy’s had to endure during WWII. The resistance was amazing and should be commended although we will probably never know most of these unsung heroes.

When his family home in Milan is destroyed by Allied bombs, Pino joins an underground railroad helping Jews escape over the Alps, and falls for Anna, a beautiful widow six years his senior. In an attempt to protect him, Pino's parents force him to enlist as a German soldier - a move they think will keep him out of combat.

Historia
Eunsun Kim was born in North Korea, one of the most secretive and oppressive countries in the modern world. As a child, Eunsun loved her country...despite her school field trips to public executions, daily self-criticism sessions, and the increasing gnaw of hunger as the countrywide famine escalated. By the time she was 11 years old, Eunsun's father and grandparents had died of starvation, and Eunsun too was in danger of starving. Finally her mother decided to escape North Korea with Eunsun and her sister.

Historia
Here is the astonishing, never-before-told story of the greatest rescue mission of World War II: when the OSS set out to recover more than 500 airmen trapped behind enemy lines. During a bombing campaign, hundreds of American airmen were shot down in Nazi-occupied Yugoslavia. Local Serbian villagers risked their own lives to give refuge to the soldiers, and for months the airmen lived in hiding, waiting for rescue.

Draza Mihailovich hero to us all and 512 pilots
Revisado: 03-29-16
It was interesting to learn of this unknown hero and what he did for the downed pilots. Many of these men would have died if not for the efforts of these freedom loving heroes. My respect for the Yugoslavian people has gone up ten fold. I will never look at these people the same way again. This is truly a book of two stories and possibly three. The liars like Klugmann and Tito and how they deceived the British and US. The love story between two lost souls and the rescue of some 512 pilots and crew members shot down over Nazi Germany.

What a wonderful story of adventure and history. I had know idea of the services and the intelligent nature of these largest of land mammals. The work the and community that these elephants share with one another is amazing and then to find that they were of valued service to the war and saving of refugees is nothing short of a miracle.

This book provokes and inspires one to follow that dream to do that which only you know how to do. Very thought provoking to provide steps to start or grow a new business or idea. This will be a re-read or listen to see what I missed the first time through.

Historia
On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.

Meet Ove. He's a curmudgeon - the kind of man who points at people he dislikes as if they were burglars caught outside his bedroom window. He has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse. People call him "the bitter neighbor from hell". But behind the cranky exterior there is a story and a sadness.

Interesting life death and happy ending
Revisado: 12-13-15
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
First off a 59 year old is not normally as old or as bitter with life as this person. This guy was ready to just quit on life because of a tragic occurrence in his personal life. This is understandable but someday this may or could happen to any of us. It's life...live it accept it..move on.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
I enjoyed the memories of his life and home as seen through his eyes.
What three words best describe George Newbern’s voice?
Bitter, Sad, surprised
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
No

Many Life Twist but always while continuing Plot
Revisado: 12-06-15
Would you listen to The Life We Bury again? Why?
Good book to listen to again as they are several side plots that were explored well but could be deeper. The mother has issues but how did she get this way and why.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Life We Bury?
Discovering why Carl might not have been a hero in Vietnam.
Which scene was your favorite?
One of my favorite scenes was when Lila came over for dinner.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Given the time I could have listen to this on all in one sitting.
Any additional comments?
Overall this was a very good book, it brought up a lot of different emotions, was loaded with many unforeseen plot twist, and tied up most of the lose ends rather well.
