Historia
LRPs were all volunteers. They were in the spine-tingling, brain-twisting, nerve-wracking business of Long Range Patrolling. They varied in age from eighteen to thirty. These men operated in precision movements, like walking through a jungle quietly and being able to tell whether a man or an animal is moving through the brush without seeing the cause of movement. They could sit in an ambush for hours without moving a muscle except to ease the safety off the automatic weapon in their hand at the first sign of trouble. These men were good because they had to be to survive.

Historia
In the summer of 1967, Mark Garrison had dropped out of college at Southern Illinois University just before entering his third year. He had run out of money and had to work for a while. These were the days before the lottery and the draft soon came calling. In order to somewhat control his own future, he enlisted in the US Army's helicopter flight school program. Little did he know that this adventure would be the most profound experience of his life.

Our Hero’s
Revisado: 04-01-25
This book brought back so many, many memories of the “war” in Vietnam. Except for some name change (my last name is Toth) it’s spot on in so many ways. I was there the same time as Mark. I was an Army 5th Special Forces grunt, saw more heavy combat that I want to say. I’m rather sure his team came to get us in one of the hot LZ. Drinking was part of life there, especially us in the front lines. Do listen to his book, you’ll learn a lot about the people there at the time. I’m hoping “Mark” can read this review or somehow the publisher can forward it to him. I want to thank him for possibly saving my ass there. In closing, do listen or buy the book, Google some of the locations of the LZ and/or locations in general to get an understanding of the pure hell they lived.

Historia
Relive six decades of flying helicopters, including an extended tour in Vietnam and the mountains of Afghanistan, with a little Iraq, Kuwait, and National Guard thrown in. This is Minuteman: Two, Three…Go! recounts Wayne Chasson’s times, from the early, young, and dumb days to becoming a more seasoned pilot of Huey and other helicopters in three American wars and the National Guard here at home. Chasson relives it all for us in this gritty and honest memoir — with humility, humor, and gratitude — as he himself is still trying to figure out how he made it through alive.

Historia
Using his own experiences, log books, and correspondence with other U-boat crewmen, Hans Goebeler offers rich and personal details about what life was like in the German Navy under Hitler. Since his first and last posting was to U-505, Goebeler's perspective of the crew, commanders, and war patrols paints a vivid and complete portrait unlike any other to come out of the Kriegsmarine. He witnessed it all, from deadly sabotage efforts that almost sunk the boat to the tragic suicide of the only U-boat commander who took his life during World War II.

Little About The War
Revisado: 04-04-24
For a book that’s true, doesn’t tell a lot about this submariner, submarine warfare. He explains more in detail about his drinking, sex and just partying. The parts that are told on warfare is interesting, a brave person. In short, it’s like a kid after graduation high school then goes to college, no parents around and has lots of parties to go to. Very disappointing.

Historia
A riveting, real-life thriller about 1983 - the year tensions between the United States and the Soviet Union nearly brought the world to the point of nuclear Armageddon. The year 1983 was an extremely dangerous one - more dangerous than 1962, the year of the Cuban Missile Crisis. In the United States, President Reagan vastly increased defense spending, described the Soviet Union as an "evil empire," and launched the "Star Wars" Strategic Defense Initiative to shield the country from incoming missiles.
