One of my favorite series

There is so much to love in this novel. It's funny, action packed, well paced, and more. I'm leaving this review after I've read both available in the series and let me tell you, the 2nd in the series is surprisingly just as good. I can't wait until more books are released in this series. I check audible every week to see if there is a new one available. Check it out. You won't be disappointed. Absolutely worth a credit.

Better than the 2nd

Very good. Enjoyed it more than 2. It's on par with the first book. The ending was really well done with this one. So looking forward to book 4. Can't wait.

What a fun little mystery!

Bought it and then proceeded to finish it over the course of 24 hours. Only takes a couple of chapters to get going as it doesn't require a ton of background or set up. Mystery will keep you listening to every detail. I was guessing the entire way through. Not a ton of characters and no time travel or different perspectives makes it super easy to follow. I highly recommend.

This author has a ton of these gems. I recommend you not only check this one out but to grab one or two of the others.

Don't sleep on this like I did

It's not a clone of Boxxy and Large Chests.... It's better in several ways. The characters are likeable, the narration is excellent, and the story was fun. I highly recommend. Worth the credit easily.

Pretty darn good

A little ridiculous at times but it was a fun listen. Couldn't sleep one night so I gave it a shot. Finished it that same night. Price was right (free). Audible membership is amazing value. Job well done. I recommend it. Story 4/5. Performance 5/5.

Enjoyed the performance but...

But the story was a bit far fetched. The idea was solid but how and what the two kids had to do for something that happened decades ago - it just didn't seem all that plausible. It's a story and I can suspend my disbelief, but this was just a bit too much. 4 stars overall and 3 stars for the story. Worth the listen if free and you don't have anything else more pressing.

A better "The Hunger Games". A must read.

Loved it. I like the main character and what drives him. I feel his character decisions are consistent and believable. The side characters feel important, are involved, and have their own personalities. I didn't feel any of them were a stereotype either. After the first few chapters, I was hooked. So much anxiety, anticipation, sadness, and happiness throughout the book. This is basically a must read. I've completed over 1200 audiobooks and this is in the top 25. Maybe higher. I'm looking forward to continuing the series. I bought both versions. If you can afford using 2 credits per book instead of one, the graphic novel "a movie for your ears" version is my preferred version - but both are excellent and worthy of 5 stars. Enjoy!

Pass from me. Did not like the ending. Too many poor decisions by the characters as well. Great performances though. Perfectly casted. Just not my jam. 4/10.

Really predictable with a characters I didn't care about. It isn't a big time investment so I'm not upset. I'd probably skip this though.

What a wonderful surprise

I had no idea what to expect but it turns out I really loved it. The author has a lot of unique stories to tell and I appreciate reading something a bit different now and again. He has another book called "A town called Discovery" that is my favorite and needs a sequel, but this was a close second!
