The story line
Revisado: 09-05-24
I like the virtual voice, as it greatly lowers the cost of the audiobooks. But it still needs some development so that male vs. female voices are more distinct, and that you can better tell the characters apart, esp. ones of the same gender.

great, esp. since it will.lower prices because there won't be any performers to pay. It has a natural if a nanometer

Historia
The emergence of strange new diseases is a frightening problem that seems to be getting worse. In this age of speedy travel, it threatens a worldwide pandemic. We hear news reports of Ebola, SARS, AIDS, and something called Hendra killing horses and people in Australia - but those reports miss the big truth that such phenomena are part of a single pattern. The bugs that transmit these diseases share one thing: they originate in wild animals and pass to humans by a process called spillover. David Quammen tracks this subject around the world.

Awe Inspiring!
Revisado: 07-02-21
I started reading this series after enjoying the movie, the amount of research done prior to writing each of the books is amazing. It may be a work of fiction, but it may be the closest we'll ever know on a personal level, until and/or if we can ever develop a time machine, and go back to find out for ourselves once and for all.

Lack of Continuity!
Revisado: 06-20-21
There is a lack of continuity both in this first book that continues throughout the series. I still gave it five stars because of everything else that went so well that I had fun going for example when the Alpha first showed his wolf to Sean he was a grey with a white undercoat, but when he shifted to run with Sean after that Alpha mate's first shift he was said to be a black wolf with a grey undercoat. Also during that series of scenes, either someone was capable of halting time, or they forgot to add all the times that were mentioned , it still can't be twelve midnight when he first shifted, then a least two hours of running around the compound and remember to add time to get from scene to scene if Sean shifted at 12 he did not start running exactly a 12 he had to adjust to his other form talk to Edmond, find and opened the sliding glass doors with the special button on th floor then when he first got outside he was overwhelmed with the sights, sounds, and odours of the desert. they said that they were gone for over two hour hours jet they said it was still just after 12 add up shifting back and quenching their thirst a semi protected love scene it had to have been at least three am before they basically passed out while waiting for the mating knot to deflate or rather drain away the extra blood that was used to inflate the knot in the first place. There are differences between the books also when Remy put his newly discovered mate into the guest suite, where he was staying and he stayed in the master suite they got the floors confused the official master suite was on the third floor taking up the majority of that level, they dad it on the second floor and the guest suite on the third floor. just some of the things that I've noticed. but then again I've have either actually read or listened easily between fifty to a hundred times give or take a few either way,I also get it subliminally , as I will listen to help shut down my wakeful brain, it allows the subconscious part of the brain to do what its supposed to, which unfortunately for me the conscious brain to relax and all that it has to do other than keep the body alive, is to take in this story, sleep teaching does work somewhat but it takes many hours of repeating the same thing each time you go to sleep. I can almost recite the entire book by now. So that and I tend to be a perfectionist about certain things and not having those story's main concepts changed is one of them be cause itself like nails on a chalkboard for be, the story stops, until I pick out the error then when I hear it again I'm ready for it sort of life getting immunity from a certain illness because then your body is ready for it if you are exposed to it
again .but not everyone notices these things and I've have rally earned my nickname of "picky Vicki" several times over. All in all a great book and series. What was really sad and unfortunate devastating for the author is that she was unable to finish the entire series, the thing that the Gods have been putting the logo badly in readiness for has not full developed fully yet , she just started the section of the series where the Betas start to get their mates, and in protocol order. Armoud's Head beta already has his mate, very conveniently, he's the loup Garou's and the Garou Corporation's head legal eagle and shock he is fully human.the next in line is Rene as he is Armoud's head of security beta. each Alpha on the Council gets two betas and their mate gets a beta as their body guard, so there are approximately two go three betas per council seat, and currently there were 8-9 Council Alphas so there were approximately 24-27 beta stories available to her imagination to work with. Oh well we will meet her again in the hereafter, and hopefully she will let us in on what the rest of the series would have been like. One can always hope.

? HEA
Revisado: 05-05-21
Just as Royal Dragon did this one ended not with but during an HEA. Would have liked to have the entre natal and postnatal period written out, this is not a true serial but it's so close that the DNA could only have a small part of only one gene present. Not a true complaint, but just a wish that all the ends had been tied up prior to the next book starting, like I said each book in this series are so close to one another, it feels like the same book, only told from a diffrent aspect. Even the Chosen and the sequeal The Program are in the story, even in the same area as Sweetwater is meationed, this one was from the other town that the wolf and other shifters drew their mating pool from. This series is so closely linked that although it's not a true serial it sort of feels like it, that or a Soap Opera. But have loved everything that I've read and or listened to from the author, that it really doesn't truly matter, just makes me want to go out and hope that the next book is on Audible, as most of you know one of my pet peeves is when a series is on Audible but there are one or more of the books aren't in the audio book format. Why start but not finish the series on Audible why break up the series, we have to get the book at least at least in the ebook format, if we don't want to spend a small fortune, even more than the book and member price of the Audible version. Like I said pet peeve. Charlene please just keep writing as you do and please stay healthy! It seems like many of my favorite authors have unexpectedly passed away during the past year or so, some in the middle of a series, not allowing them to make arrangements with another author whom writes in sort of the same style to finish the series for them, using the series outline, characters etc so that the series isn't just left hanging out there in the wind and you never find out what the true point or preposition is. very frustrating, not to take anything away from the terrible loss of the author is esp. their family and circle of close personal friends is. As usual I digress and start and almost free association in my comments, like I 've stated in the past, it's the result of being in a private room in the Nursing and Rehabilitation facility esp. when on Covid lockdown, while some small parts of civilization is starting to open up for those who have received their full vaccination series and have their certification, we in nursing facilities which were the first thing to be locked down, even prior to full lockdown on every aspect of life as we knew it, we are still in lockdown even if we're currently Covid free at this time. I personally have not seen any of my family and friends for over a year, and FaceTime just doesn't cut it. Although I have been fortunate enough to have had care packages brought to (me each and every week of the over five years of my time in the facility which includes the Covid gobal disaster)the front lobby and then the staff brings them up to our rooms. And One off and running again. Read or listen to this entire series you won't be disappointed. Thank You for this opportunity to run with my feelings about not only the current book, but things I have going on while enjoying the book! 🐈

Short!!
Revisado: 04-29-21
Loved the story, but it was too short! There was so much to add such as their trip back to Bridgewater, the others reaction, Christmas together and each couple hinted at. the children's reaction to Christmas. and of course their Wedding night, and training her as... and all three coming together at the end just like all of the other books.
VS!

Wonderful audio book can't wait to listen/read the rest of the whole Hobson Hills world! 🐈
Revisado: 02-29-20
I received this audio book in exchange for an honest review, which is what I hope you will enjoy. This writer states that she is new to the mpreg genre, well with my reading all the mpreg that I can get a hold of you really could have rolled me. Her story about two slightly dysfunctional young people one a alpha whose a demisexual, now this was the first time that I had ever heard about this, but knowing the roots of the words, and what the character tells about it, it's my belief that it is a lowered sex drive unless he has a strong bond with you. Otherwise it's a no go situation, the author handled this sensitive topic with slowing the other is a brilliant web designer omega snooze whole world stopped after losing his entire family when he was 17. So they started a very long distance friendship which we'll I'll let you find out for yourself this is small town to it's finest, along with some surprises along the way. And to those who don't know the Maine Clone. Cat is the natural cat of this country originally being found in the State of Maine. If you want more info on the breed contact TICA. Suffice to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the story and would highly recommend it to anyone who asked me about it. I started my mpreg journeys, with Susi Hawke's Hollydale series, and I get the same kind of feels about the Hobson Hill series. After enjoying the audio book I did look at some of the other books in the series. Here I go right into a new series what a joy that is I've been reading since the age of two at a first grade level, my mom had told me that if we had not had such a well stocked library in town she would have had no way to keep up with me. Being a natural born speed reader I was and still am a voreous reader although now at 61 and in a nursing care facility I seem to be doing more listening than actually reading. But welcome to Hobson Hills you'll find the trip well worth the journey.

Great Book!!! 😃
Revisado: 05-31-19
The only thing that I can complain about is the audio. There was a lot of repeating of sentences, and twice the audio was garbled. Would recommend this book and narrator to anyone, I loved the way he tells you the history but also entertains you by making it seam personso by the telling the history through someone's eyes and life, esp liked the story of the little sockeye salmon He made everything so real, that you want to club the guy in charge of killing the sea otter mom's baby and then laugh when a goes from boat to boat crying out for her baby. Also the guy in charge of the he'll ship, esp the killing of the pregnant females and only taking the the baby. Also all of the waste going after a whale is one thing but to just let them sink to the bottom of the sea and go after even more losing several whales in a pod. The book shows the near or total extermination of not only widely but if whole tribes of native Alaskans. Would listen to any of the author's books, can trying to decide whether to get Hawaii or Texas next.
