Historia
Amber Marie Sterlington, the rage of the season in Regency-era London, has her pick of men, and she knows what she wants most in a husband: a title and a fortune. Why would she ever marry for something as fickle as love? And why would she ever look twice at Thomas Richards, a third son of a country lord? But when Amber's social standing is threatened, the character of her future husband becomes far more important than his position.

Another hit!
Revisado: 03-22-23
I have listened to many historical romances and most have trouble holding my attention but this author has a way of weaving a story that is truly engaging. In the process of the story I also learn about the rules and expectations of society in the 1800's at a pace that holds my interest as I wonder what will happen next.

Historia
Lord Fenton is a gambler and a dandy, and he will be stripped of his wealth and position unless he rises to his responsibility - one of which is to marry. Far from being a giddy groom, Fenton chooses the unobjectionable Alice Stanbridge simply because he knew her as a young girl, and his mother feels Alice would make a good wife. Alice, however, has harbored feelings for Fenton since their first meeting years ago, and his proposal is a dream come true.

Masterful, storyteller!
Revisado: 03-10-23
I have every one of this authors books. She tells stories in such depth, and provides wisdom in her words. I love that she is not dependent on salacious detail or religious sermons. Instead, she brings a wholesomeness and moral lesson into her writing, which is not preachy. I love her books and will buy every one!

This book moved wayyyyy too slow for me. I kept waiting for something, anything to actually happen. It had a bit too much god talk for me as well. I like wholesome but not the religion that always seems to invade. They need a warning label.

Historia
As a once happily married woman, Rebecca Parker lived a charmed life, but now widowed and working for a living, she feels alone and lives a mundane existence. That is until the day a valet speeding by on a horse nearly runs her off the road. Mr. Malcolm Henry is apologetic, gentle, and very handsome. She’s instantly drawn to him, which is why, rather than stopping him from kissing her, she finds herself kissing him back, reigniting a nearly forgotten passion in her. But love at first sight only happens in fairy tales—never to an ordinary woman like her.

I will get every book this author writes!
Revisado: 03-05-23
This Author knows how to tell a story. She is wholesome but does not lean on religion. She does not need gratuitous, salacious content because her story stands on it's own. I have loved the 5 books I have listened to and plan to get every one she writes!

A story about autism before it was widely known. The story was touching and really helped me to understand a different way of thinking. I felt teary at the end. Excellent book and story.

Revisado: 01-10-23
The story was done well and I liked her style of writing. I could picture the story unfolding in my mind's eye. I liked this story because it was not too religious. However, beware, I got another one of her books and it was like sitting though church. I like wholesome but hold the religion please.

Moved slow and way too much religion
Revisado: 01-10-23
I liked one of her books so I got this one but this was was so religious I had a hard time getting through it. I like wholesome books, I don't care for bodice rippers but I also don't need a sermon. Religion is personal, I don't want to be preached at. Keep it clean and get rid of the religion.

Moved slow
Revisado: 12-09-22
I do like that Joanna Barker's books are clean but not religious, and I have liked many of her other books. Unfortunately, this book moved painfully slow for me and I just could not get used to the mousy female character. Ok, I understand it was different back in the 1800's but this woman was so introverted it was hard to relate to her.
