Everyone should have this book, especially women!!
Revisado: 12-18-19
I have used this book as a guide after teaching self defense classes myself. I have added in the escape methods he taught (of course doing them myself SEVERAL times first). As a woman, it is empowering! I am still assembling my jump/bug out bag, yet having my Tac pen and getting to show other women what it can do... As well as my own feeling of safety... I would easily pay twice the amount for this book!
Only 1 tiny down side is that I wish there was a Pdf file that went with the book, for examples and when you go to the website, I do not believe that the items he had to give away are still available.

Wonderful! One of my favorite authors!
Revisado: 12-17-19
This is honestly now one of my FAVORITES! I couldn't stop listening! I didn’t sleep all night long because I was so engrossed in the story. Seriously though every few minutes there is a new twist or new information that you learn. I would love to be in Karin's mind for just one day! The characters are so incredibly relatable it was like being back in my own home town.

Wow. I could listen to this one again for sure!
Revisado: 05-15-17
This story definitely gets you. It is not only emotional on one level but I would say four or five. It has a twist in it that you never see coming yet when it happens and the story continues it makes all the more sense. The characters are so amazingly thought out and have such personality in and of themselves that you can see part of yourself or someone you know in them. The story not only revolves around the case at hand, it reaches into the personal lives of the people in the story in ways that are relevant, not just added fluff for more words/pages.
You can honestly understand the frustration of the DI in both his work and personal life; and how hard he is trying to maintain the whirlwind and chaos without compromising his job.
You can recognize the drive of the rookie and how hard she is working to get her inspector position and yet not back down to the higher ups. She has wonderful insights and gut feelings.
You can understand the DI's wife and their issues with their family and her needs that she is trying to get across.
I could keep going on and on... Yet I will let you listen to the story and understand these things for yourself. As an Audible member since it's beginning I have gone through hundreds of books, this one is definitely a great one as I don't review a book very often.

What other book might you compare The Returned to and why?
I have never read or listened to another book like tis one. It is a very unique story.
Which scene was your favorite?
I don't think that I could choose any one part of this book to be my favorite. Every chapeter brought something new and something honest and deep with it.
Who was the most memorable character of The Returned and why?
The father I believe was the most memorable in my mind. The way he said one thing yet his actions were a complete contrast to that.
