The AI reader/computer generated
Revisado: 11-07-24
The story was decent, but eventually the computer generated audio began to get irritating. Often the emphasis was on the wrong words. It was at times ok. But more often than not sounded like random words strung together. I highly recommend the author pay a human to create the audio.

Do you sometimes feel as if you're just going through the motions in life? Are you good at looking and acting as if you're fine, but secretly feel lonely and disconnected? If so, you are not alone. The world is full of people who have an innate sense that something is wrong with them - who feel they live on the outside looking in, but have no explanation for this feeling and no way to put it into words.

Good ideas BAD narration
Revisado: 09-08-24
This book is interesting and can open your eyes on why you may go thru life feeling empty or that you are unable to love. However the narration sounds like it was computer generated. It made this book VERY difficult to listen to. each word sounded like a computer pulling each word out and stringing them together in a sentence. SERIOUSLY difficult to listen to.

Narration like instructional manual
Revisado: 07-04-23
The story was ok... I guess... but the narrator sounded like he was reading an instructional manual or a news article. He had no change in tone for ANY of it. He has a pleasant voice but it's monotone. I couldn't finish because my mind wandered to much.

Historia
This new stand-alone survival thriller thrusts the most dynamic city on Earth, New York, into darkness as North America is bludgeoned by the sun's ferocity. Scientists promised a beautiful aurora providing the city that never sleeps with magnificent hues of blue and green. For three days, New Yorkers took to the streets, parks, and rooftops to enjoy the awe-inspiring spectacle. As the power grid failed, the city of New York collapsed with remarkable speed. The thin veneer of civilization was laid bare as man fought one another for survival.

Not even close to a full book
Revisado: 06-12-23
Not even close to a full story. This story can't even be rated..... because it's NOT a book. it's part of a book! I'm halfway thru and NOTHING has happened. Just another story that's been broken up and sold as a series. I would guess that they'd have to combine the 1st three books for the reader to feel like they paid for a full novel. The writing is not bad if your ok with paying over $50 for one book by the time you buy the rest of the series. The narrator is great.
*** I finished the "book" and it's VERY irritating that the author published this knowing it was a FRACTION of a book! I'm done with him. I won't be buying anymore of his work. Moving on.

Good but scenes to long
Revisado: 11-17-22
The story and writing was good, but many scenes were far too long. Some characters were read as so whiney I wanted to scream. Pretty much skipped 75% of the final "Book". OK for one credit for entire series.

Not much EMP but good story
Revisado: 10-11-22
This book really has little to do with an EMP and the struggles to overcome the hardships it would create. However, it is a very engaging story of a woman kidnapped and the struggle to escape. She just happened to gain her freedom as a result of the EMP and loss of power. The story is worth a listen even though it's not really an entire book ... it's the typical dividing of one book into several to make money. But it is long enough to feel you got your money's worth..... but you have to go in knowing there's no ending to the story. it just kind of stops in mid sentence and your left saying WHAT??? I did buy book 2 and we'll see from there whether it's worth buying the rest. Needs to be a box set.

Fairly interesting story
Revisado: 04-16-22
This was a fairly interesting story and the narrator did a wonderful job. However, the constant he said, she said started to really get on my nerves. There are so many instances where it was obvious who was speaking and adding "name said" was unnecessary.

Narrator needs to TAKE A BREATH
Revisado: 01-05-22
I enjoyed the Vampire Bride, but returned this book. The narrator was like listening to someone on ramble on without taking a breath. The voices for characters were so similar that without pausing, the listener has no idea which character is talking. To irritating to listen to.

Alpha male is too EXTREME
Revisado: 10-15-21
I enjoyed the story however, Meeting Max I would see RED FLAGS wondering if he'd be abusive once married. Nina often sounded like her brain was constantly shutting down and she's suppose to be an attorney. While Max sounds extremely sexy and would give a girl an adrenaline rush, the author took the alpha male personality WAY to far (and I do love an alpha male). I'd find it very disturbing to be attracted to such a potentially physically and emotionally abusive man. To the Kristen Ashley; Please continue to write about mature romance, but tone down the domineering traits. And for goodness sake.... STOP with the muddle headed females constantly repeating what is said to her. I'd love a story about an empty nester, not to old, finding a rugged, strong, cowboy type, financially secure, loving man. Just a thought.....
