I liked it. There are so many lone wolf stories to choose from. Not always looking for a "redemption" story or that MC was saved by love. The chapters and pacing of the story were set up very well. Kudos to Mr. Stevens. I'll read more of his work, and especially Ham

I very seldom review a book, and this is not my usual genre, but, I dip into Reacher, Rapp, et al occasionally.
Kudos to Mr. Byrne for writing such an engaging and self deprecating character in Dez! He did a very good job with all his characters
We all know that the audible version can make or break a book, and I think John Keating really knocks it out of the park.

As someone in the minority here, I have to say that I am really enjoying this latest installment in the "Innkeeper" series! I avoided the blog clips so I could fully savor the audio,
The Andrews' seem to have really enjoyed penning this latest. I don't mind the newest narrator. Maybe Renee Raudman wasn't available at the time this went to audio? I wasn't as invested in Renee Raudman as others seem to be. I always thought she sounded older than the young woman Dina was supposed to be. I thought Natalie Naudus did a great job on the last two books.....Ms. Sofyan could probably add a bit more "twang' to her Texas accent, though the character is never mentioned as being from Texas....and yes, "Gaston" is a bit over the top. This book had a wonderfully long run time, and lots of moving parts, I really enjoyed Caledonia(sp) opening the chapters! Kudos to the authors!

Just what I needed!

The perfect antidote to Grimdark tales! Spunky heroine, Large cast of quirky characters, and, Centaurs! A dragon makes a brief appearance. First book for me by this author, will definitely get the next in the series, and might try some other works listed, though I'm not a big Dragon fan.
I did laugh out loud a couple of times, grinned a lot at the dialogue. If you are offended by swearing, F-bombs in particular, you might want to pass as this book is chock full of them! No demure maidens here!
The narrators did a good job, and the story is easy enough to follow that a couple of missteps didn't detract.
Get this book. It's a hoot!

The voices were very good. I might try a book with this reader again.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Disappointed. I love a good domestic thriller! I kept waiting for "the nonstop thrill ride," Maybe I'm listening to too much Reacher, Rapp,Orphan X. The pacing in this story is absolutely glacial...Unless it's the constant beating of "prisons coddle inmates and release thugs to re-commit even more heinous crimes than they were sent in for," against my eardrums. Ok, I get it. Lets move on with the story! I finally gave up halfway. Returning this title.

What did you like best about Die Trying? What did you like least?
Sometimes you just need some senseless violence, and Reacher fits the bill. This is the only book/series where I enjoyed the movie version better than the book....
