Phenomenal Story!!!

The story was magnificent. Just the right mix of all the things (intrigue, romance, magic, world building, etc.) It’s low on spice for a fantasy romance but there’s a bit and it’s worth the LONG wait. The trigger warning list is pretty long because it’s an incredibly involved story but…it’s fantastic and worth it!

What an absolutely fantastic story!!! It was sooo long and yet now that it’s ended I am sick with missing the characters and each of their subplots. Wonderful on so many levels. Black, female, supernatural, romance…this book has it all. Not much spice but the bit that’s present is yummy and makes this not fit for a young audience. Loved everything about this. Can’t wait to see what else this author has written!!!

Awesome story, narration can get in the way if you let it.

The story is absolutely wonderful and steamy in the best ways. The male narrator is on point for sure! The female narrator has a great voice but not for this genre. It really got in the way throughout the story. I would definitely listen to her read something more refined but her pronunciation and timing with colloquialisms and overall affect didn’t match the character at all. But the story is phenomenal.

If you love, a good fantasy romance, this book is for you. I highly recommend it. Twists and turns, great plot, great characters, a few steamy love scenes…and dragons! Yes…there was a span of the book where the narrator was obviously doing her best to fight through a cold but if you can stick with it (and feel bad for her), the story is worth it right through the very last words of the book. Great ending!

This was a wonderful book with an awesome narrator. Such great characters, so many things to experience and each was so in depth that you didn’t feel like anything was missing at the end. I highly recommend this book. I’ll miss this one now that I finished it.
