Historia
As a movie location scout, picture-perfect is the name of the game. But her last project literally went up in flames, and her career is on the verge of flaming out. Greer has been given one more chance, if she can find the perfect undiscovered beach hideaway for a big-budget movie. She zeroes in on a sleepy Florida panhandle town called Cypress Key. There's one motel, a marina, a long stretch of pristine beach and an old fishing pier with a community casino-which will be perfect for the film's explosive climax.

Meh....skip it.
Revisado: 12-01-15
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
1. I realize authors take liberties to move the plot along but did MKA even research how movies are made?
2. Where are the quirky southern characters?
3. The lead female's immaturity became tiresome.
Did Kathleen McInerney do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
She did alright considering the material.
Any additional comments?
It's not dollar Taco Wednesday it's Taco Tuesday in LA. I know that's insignificant but those little details added up to a poorly written book.

Any additional comments?
Maybe I'm to old for this book but the storyline is eye rolling bad. Minor SpoilersCole is wonderful the perfect book boyfriend and incredibly grown up. Now Shannon is TSTL and her family is unsupportive and jerks. Seriously she was beat up by her boyfriend! Yeah her brother went to jail for retaliation BUT he didn't have to beat him up that was his choice. But no it was all her fault.
Her sister Amanda is a stupid brat and I was quickly over her wah wah wah he has tattoos so he must be loser. Shannon's back and forth with Cole is an immature storyline that you would find in a YA book. Yes string him along I mean once ok, but enough. Her waxing on and on read like a therapy session. Oh whoa is me. RME
The only reason I gave it a 3 stars is because the writing is excellent the story however leaves much to be desired.

DNF! Really echo chamber sound effect?
Revisado: 03-30-14
Any additional comments?
This review is solely based on the audio production. What production team in the right mind would put an echo chamber sound effect for Agnes' internal dialogue? Do they really think the listeners are too dense to figure out when she is speaking out-loud and when she is in her head?
The narrator seemed ok but I was too distracted to give an honest assessment. I've read/listened to Cruise's other books and they were great so I may just get this on Kindle at some point

Great cast of characters!
Revisado: 03-28-14
What did you love best about An Offer You Can't Refuse?
Often in chicklit/romance books that have multiple story lines going on the MCs story will be thinly formed. Mansell gives each character the attention they deserve. Her stories are always funny, sweet and topical. This one is no different.
You have the "bad boy" (well man) who sleeps around with the sweet but experienced girl (nothing I hate more in a romance is a slutty guy+inexperienced/virgin girl...yawn).
The recently "scorned" woman with a ticking biological clock. Preteen angst from the spunky and smart daughter. Tragedy but not over the top life can't go on kind. The glamorous ex Hollywood actress. Finally the awesome gay dad who isn't dealing with coming out like a lot of romance novelists assign them, he is dealing with raising his daughter.
What does Julie Maisey bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Maisey is fantastic, her voices serve each character well. My one complaint is her American accents. It wouldn't have bothered me but during a scene a character was imitating an East coast accent Masell wrote he did a spot on accent. It made me cringe, one part British with a dash of southern and a little Jersey for good measure.
Other than that Maisey delivered an excellent performance.

I'm a masochist for finishing this.
Revisado: 03-28-14
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
People who want mind readers as a BDSM partner. Case in point:"
"In clubs, safe words are mandatory, so if we ever go to one together, your word will be ‘red.’ The second you say ‘red,’ everything stops, no questions asked. But, honestly, the way I feel about safe words is, you shouldn’t need one with me. It’s my job to learn what you can handle and what you can’t, and I’m a firm believer in ‘no means no.’"
People who don't mind repetition. "I've ever" felt, experienced, whatever appeared 17 times. 17!
"It’s the most incredible thing I’ve ever felt"
"....finest specimen of man I’ve ever seen."
" ... most alluring smell I’ve ever experienced."
"...Matt is perhaps the best thing I’ve ever experienced."
Other words were repetitive too but I couldn't be bothered to find more examples.
Nic was TSTL at times. You go home with a guy you don't know tied up bc he says he's not an "ax murderer"?
How many times can your hands be tied behind your back with rope. There's more to bondage than that and how about some spontaneity. It was like appointment sex.
Matt was a lot of talk "when I get you home". There was a bathroom scene where he could have tied her with his belt instead he tells her she has 5 minutes to get to the car. Yawn.
Spoiler! Nic again is TSTL with the whole "I can't have a baby so if I love him set him free." Utter nonsense what year is it because there is this thing called adoption and surrogacy. So tell the man and if has to have a child that has he's DNA then he's a worthless pile. That storyline is as played as rich guy meets virgin.
What didn’t you like about Jennifer Mack’s performance?
Mack does this fake laugh/chuckle that is really annoying. It's super aloof and contrived and I rolled my eyes so many times I thought I might roll them out of my skull. Her men's voices were ok.
The male narrator was much better sorry I've forgotten his name and am typing on my phone bc I'm so annoyed by this book.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
I had the Charlie Brown reaction to the adults. Wah wah wah wah.
Any additional comments?
If your an audio masochist do it but if you like bondage, alpha males, a strong non wishy washy heroine and a dash of D/s stay away.

Bring the Angst
Revisado: 12-17-13
Any additional comments?
This book was average for one reason. Aidan. She drove me up a wall. Her inner monologue of "old Aidan" did that and "new Aidan" wants this. Re..dun..dant. And the writing for her had me wanting to wring her neck. Yes we know Jet's pants are tighter than your's. I didn't start liking her until the last 2 hours. It's like 2 different people wrote the parts. The narrator for Aidan was ok but just ok. I wish I could post a gif to fully express how lame she was for 80% of the book. Now Jet's character was well thought out. His internal monologue was interesting and to the point. Also the narrator was much much better. Jet had some really terrific lines that will melt your heart. There a few hot parts, but I was so irriatated at Aidan that they fell short. Thier first encounter in the club bathroom and the last one in the hotel were the best, the rest was filler. I really hope Rowdy or Rome's story is better and there's a little comic or lighthearted relief to break up the borderline teenage angst that this book has.

DNF Boring
Revisado: 11-03-13
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
This book was beyond boring maybe it was the monotone narrator? Maybe it was the repetitive words? Maybe it was both but my word I wanted to find some cyanide. I'm not opposed to the C word. I'm not opposed to any word when used in the right context or by a character that would use it. But sweet baby jujubes there are a plethora of adjectives for a woman's nether regions to choose from.
Has Drawn Together turned you off from other books in this genre?
Definitely not. I'm a peddler of romance, erotica and smut.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Rivers male voice was so utterly boring. Scenes that should have lit my panties on fire made me close my eyes. Maybe she took a sedative to chlllout before reading it? Who knows.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Ummmm the premise was good? I went to Goodreads and there are lots of positive reviews so I may give the written version a whirl at some point.

"I can eliminate most women in less than 40 secs"
Revisado: 10-16-13
Where does The Rosie Project rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This is definitely in my listen again list. BTW Audible should create a lists option in the app. Don is such a lovably infuriating guy who will simultaneously make you laugh and a little sad.
Which scene was your favorite?
The speed dating scene was really funny. "I've sequenced the questions for maximum speed of elimination,’ I explained. ‘I believe I can eliminate most women in less than forty seconds. Then you can choose the topic of discussion for the remaining time."
Also everytime time he correctly (bc obviously he would never be wrong) determines someone's BMI I chuckled.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Questions for the "Wife Project".
Any additional comments?
The narration is superb and a follow up story to...well, if I tell you that would spoil the fun, would be awesome. This quirky book will make your heart melt and your face hurt from smiling and laughing.

Get your difibulators because Max Stella swoon.
Revisado: 10-09-13
Have you listened to any of Grace Grant and Jonathan R. Cole ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Jonathan R. Cole should narrate all hunky British men, I'm looking at you Redheaded Series. Sweet baby cheesus and all the wise guys he could read stock quotes and I'd listen. And when he calls her Petal...*fans face* Max Stella could take me ehhummm.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The end. We all know these types of stories end happy, that's why we listen. Well that and the ummm well let's put it this way: Night Club, Roof Top, Restaurant, Warehouse, Charity Party, Taxi, Office and I won't reveal the best because spoilers.
Max - "You could break my heart just know that, yeah" Now imagine the sexiest British accent saying that "yeah".
Any additional comments?
The story was engaging and the writing was excellent. The characters had purpose and the sex didn't overwhelm the story. Perfect blend of erotica and romance, much better than Beautiful Bastard. Now what are you waiting for go put that credit to good use.
