Historia
Breakfast of Champions (1973) provides frantic, scattershot satire and a collage of Vonnegut's obsessions. His recurring cast of characters and American landscape was perhaps the most controversial of his canon; it was felt by many at the time to be a disappointing successor to Slaughterhouse-Five, which had made Vonnegut's literary reputation.

This is only a memory jogger for me.
Kurt Vonnegut is one of the reasons why, he captures the insanity very well , I just wish he recognized it as insanity. I don't want to revisit

Memories of being a "Brat"
Revisado: 01-29-16
Reacher still in the army. Lee Child must have been a "Brat" to know about the feelings.. Authentic military too.. I really liked this book

Do You Hear the intro music now?
Revisado: 10-26-15
No one over 50 can help but smile when the intro music starts. One is either old enough to remember the radio version or the TV version. The show stayed strong to the end, There are still some episodes I think about frequently even now that I am much over 50. The Audio Version stayed true to the original and it was a joy to bring back memories.
Highly recommend to even younger people who love the nuance of a subtle mystery.

Love Alex Cross. So much trauma! Must be fiction!
Revisado: 10-26-15
Through the years Alex Cross has become watered down.. Must happen when an author (editor, publisher) tries to keep a character going, and going, and going.. I still enjoy the stories but not with the gusto of the past. The only author I know who has been able to stay strong over a long time is James Lee Burke, but then he is a thinking man like Koontz. So they have more to say than just a 300 page "story"

Revisado: 10-26-15
I have recently discovered Lee child so I have been reading from new to old.
It has been fun getting more background information on Jack Reacher. Die Trying was a good source for his personality and motivation. I will keep reading the original books in the series.

Revisado: 09-19-15
Probably one of the best. tender, gory, suspenseful. strong characters. But still not the one I'm looking for. Dog introduced in Dragon Tears. it's been a long time since I listened on cassette, but have thought about the performance of that dog for all these years.Fantastic!

early works
Revisado: 08-27-15
Would you consider the audio edition of The Funhouse to be better than the print version?
It's not better than print. I read that a long time ago but could use my own imagination. the beginning of this audio version is too gross for me to listen to.maybe I'm getting old but I do like Koontz's newer books with all his life experience philosophy.
Would you be willing to try another book from Dean Koontz? Why or why not?
I have devoured all his books for years. it's just the early ones when he was catagorized "horror" that I'm not fond of.
Would you listen to another book narrated by Karen Peakes?
she did nothing for me. perhaps having a soft spoken woman describe the "baby" was off putting for me. I won"t look for her as a reader as I do some readers.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
no/ I stopped listening after 3 chapters

confusing
Revisado: 08-18-15
Would you listen to Condominium again? Why?
no. too confusing
What other book might you compare Condominium to and why?
definately not any Arthur Haley books.
Which character – as performed by Richard Ferrone – was your favorite?
none. too many unnecessary characters .obviously overwhelming for Ferrone.
I liked the engineers but couldn't keep them straight.. seemed like two books, some fascinating, some very boring.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
no. I had trouble knowing what character was
Any additional comments?
very interesting info re construction. growth of hurricane interesting. dropped of at actual hurricane, would have liked a bit more drama.
