She’s still my favorite
Revisado: 01-16-25
She’s been my go-to inspirational life coach for a few years/books now. I wasn’t sure what to expect but I was pleasantly impressed as usual with her writing style, story telling and ability to get me thinking deeply about my life. Thanks for keeping it real Rach. I’m here for it. Appreciate the hidden wisdom of the bonus chapter.

Historia
Growing up, Jenny Pentland’s life was a literal sitcom. Many of the storylines for her mother’s smash hit series, Roseanne, were drawn from Pentland’s early family life in working-class Denver. But that was only the beginning of the drama. Roseanne Barr’s success as a comedian catapulted the family from the Rockies to star-studded Hollywood—with its toxic culture of money, celebrity, and prying tabloids that was destabilizing for a child in grade school.

Historia
Behind the curtain of her happy on-screen persona, Valerie Bertinelli’s life has been no easy ride, especially when it comes to her own self-image and self-worth. She waged a war against herself for years, learning to equate her value to her appearance as a child star on One Day at a Time and punishing herself in order to fit into the unachievable Hollywood mold. She struggled to make her marriage to Eddie Van Halen—the true love of her life—work, despite all the rifts the rock-star lifestyle created between them.

Added politics opinion not relevant to story. Wish I could get credit for. Did not chose this for a political opinion.

Excellent History of Joe Pilates
Revisado: 07-17-22
This was a great listen! As a student of Pilates for many years I really loved hearing from not only a student of Joe’s but a friend. Joe was a genius in my eyes and this book tells a rich vivid story of his life. There are parts of his life that remain a mystery. I highly recommend this book. I loved it!

An inspirational memoir about how Jennifer Pastiloff's years of waitressing taught her to seek out unexpected beauty, how hearing loss taught her to listen fiercely, how being vulnerable allowed her to find love, and how imperfections can lead to a life full of wild happiness. Centered around the touchstone stories Jen tells in her popular workshops, On Being Human is the story of how a starved person grew into the exuberant woman she was meant to be all along by battling the demons within and winning.

So real and relatable
Revisado: 01-30-22
Loved loved loved this book! So many takeaways- I should have taken notes. I’ll have to re-listen to write down all the juicy bits. Jen puts a funny name to specific things we do- like the bullshit story we’ve been telling ourselves- our inner asshole. Her humor and funny labels help me to be more aware and make changes. This book is the perfect combination of storytelling and self-help. Thank you Jen!!

I really enjoyed this book. The author starts with her childhood which could have been a book in itself. I particularly like that she read it herself. It’s a great listen on audible. I literally started it an didn’t stop until the end. It’s interesting, captivating and inspiring. Much of the book is about Siri’s career as a athlete but you don’t have to be one to appreciate her grit. Loved this book!!

If you need motivation
Revisado: 02-26-19
Listening to this book is pure motivation! Now, you might not be ready to hear some of this if you’re happy being stuck where you are. Honestly, the word stuck says you’re probably not happy. I wasn’t into it the first time I started listening. I actually returned back six months later. There was something still drawing me in TO this author and book. The second time around I listen to it in a matter of a weekend and I really love it. I feel inspired to make changes in my life. I can’t wait to read her other books.
