I really should know better. I ran into this for Den of Vipers. I forgot.

If you are looking for plot with spice, this isn’t it. Basically, it’s a 7 on 1 reverse harem porn fest. If that’s your thing, cool. You will love it.

If you want plot, find another book. It’s too bad the concept for the plot isn’t too bad. It would have made a good book with a broader audience. For me, it just gets old and boring really fast.

Cute story. I like the characters and it was a fun listen. Different kind of love story than I usually listen too. Nice change of pace.

It’s okay

I liked her other series better than this one. The last book needed a lot of editing. I wish the dynamic with Lorkin and Bree started in book 3. Lorkin was the best villain of the series.

The series isn’t as action packed as previous series and not quite as addictive. Dark Maji and Queen of the Damned are vastly better series and highly recommended.

Very much worth the credit. Off to read book 2 in Kindle Unlimited because it isn’t available yet here. The narrators did an excellent job. They seemed to work well together.

YA Series Warning

Another reviewer mentioned this is not for 30+ readers because the characters are immature. Honestly, I think this book could have used a seasoned editor. Obviously, it’s a story that maybe people really enjoyed, I wasn’t the audience.

I’m not sure the narrator read ahead in the story before she recorded. More than a few times the vocal characterization didn’t match her acting. So much so, it changed the atmosphere the author was trying to build for the audience. She also seemed to have a difficult time holding character. Sometimes male characters had lower voices and sometimes that would bleed into the female characters. For example, in the first chapter Liam meets Diana, they sound the same, and Diana didn’t sound like she did in her POV chapters.

Writing could have used a seasoned editor and another draft. The style is inconsistent. While the writing is immature, I think for some this adds to the story and might work, not me. If this had been advertised as young adult, which I am not, I would not have purchased it. (Yeah, adult woman reviewer here.) This is probably a great book/series if you are younger than 35-40. Otherwise, I would recommend finding something else.

Best Cat and Mouse in a long time

The story was a bit predictable, but not in a way I would deter people from reading it. It was a good story. I’m looking forward to book 2.

The relationship between the FML and MML was the best cat and mouse I’ve read in a long time. I enjoyed their back and forth, their cunning, and their doubts. Nice job.
