Yep, another winner by Anna Zaires 👏

I have always love Anna Zaires, and I was skeptical of this story initially as it does not have the usual kidnapping and forced seduction themes I'm used to with her stories. I'm glad I have it a try 😌 ☺ I am promptly going to the next installment of this series. People who complain about the cliffhanger must not be used to her story writing style, since she does a lot of buildup and has the couple go through more than more difficulty until a HEA. The narrators were fabulous and have read for some of her other books. Sebastian York is talented and helps create a realistic sounded Alpha make performance that isn't monotone or dull.

Love the Capital Theater series

The combination of Kleypas's writing style and Rosalyn's narration is always perfection. Rosalyn has the most versatile range of female and male voices, I don't have to ever struggle past the narrators poor perf to get into the story whenever its Rosalyn telling it. 😊

I like the tension building and chemistry in this story along with Zaires characteristic alpha male that you want to be dominated by and doesn't feel canned or superficial.

Narrator makes this one for me

The narrator does an amazing job. her male voices are wonderful in done and her dramatic flare helps me feel present with the heroine. I will listen to more now from both this author and narrator. The story doesn't take forever and its not to short to build a connection to the characters and world building.

Fun series

I've been enjoying this series, each story has a different theme and heroine/hero dynamic which helps avoid the dejavu story formula with many other romance series writes with a book series. The back and forth male and female narrators works very smoothly and the length of each story is right in my wheelhouse.

Similar to "Secrets of a Summer Night"

This was my first foray into Kleypas outside of her Regency genre books. I love every single one of them and gave the modern day ones a shot finally. The story was pretty good, but the male lead, Joe, fell flat for me.
Kleypas did copy a scene from her book "Secrets of a Summer Night".... it is identical in many ways and was odd to see it play out again.... it is the part where Simon tells Annabelle that she has 1 minute to get upstairs while at a hotel or he will have her there and then in public, and then Simon stalks her (in a sexy way) as she playfully runs away from him up the stairs to get out of public. In this book it's the same thing with Avery and Joe. Joe gives a surprise visit to Avery and tells her she has 30 seconds to get out of the public setting or he will have her and the stalks her to the bedroom....Oh well. Overall Lisa Kleypas's style is generally witty and engaging so even that detail doesn't deter me from wanting to ready the other books in this series.
The narrator nails the character voices. Bravo.

Takes a turn halfway, but resolves things nicely

I was not a big fan of the narrator's Russian accent at first, but eventually it smoothed out and I was able to focus more on the story itself. When they go back in time it seems odd at first, but it is well worth it if you stick it out. I like idea of star crossed lovers and meeting each other in different lives over and over.
This book has several differences from Kleypas's other works, but still a lot of her steamy romance that keeps me returning for more of her works. I would recommend this to any Kleypas book lover.
