I am huge Lisa Kleypas reader but this had great promise but Julia got whiny and wishy washy at end…I nearly stopped listening.

The combination of Kleypas's writing style and Rosalyn's narration is always perfection. Rosalyn has the most versatile range of female and male voices, I don't have to ever struggle past the narrators poor perf to get into the story whenever its Rosalyn telling it. 😊

Love the Capital Theater series

In each of her novels. Lisa Kleypas brings her characters into different worlds- sometimes that of the growing merchandise setting of a department store, or that of the Bow Street runners, or that of the first female physician in London. Here the life of the actress who wants both a professional career and love, marriage and a family provides a fascinating backdrop for one of her typical romantic tales. She is a master of character and plot and a joy to read. The performance by the reader is, as usual, excellent and convincing.

Little did they know they were fatefully made for each other! I enjoyed the banter, the independence, the passionate resistance and beautiful natural submission in the end .. a beautiful story ❤️

A match perfectly made from birth

This was not my favorite Lisa Kleypas book. I read 90% of her work but this one falls short.
I didn’t like any of the men in the book. The leading man was horrible and one of the love scenes bordered on rape.
The other men weren’t much better.

My only regret is that I listened to Book 2, Because You are Mine, before this book. It took away from Logans character. That said, this book was another win for Lisa Kleypas and Rosalyn Landor. The story, characters and the wonderful narration were great. I can only hope that there will be more Capitol Theater books than these two on Audible.

I guess I am getting tired of the stories that have the supposedly very strong willed women who do not need a man in their lives. This woman kept going back and forth it is a wonder the guy ever came back to her. To me these stories are so unrealistic. Life just wasn’t like it is depicted in these stories.

Revisiting an old favorite

Loved the theatre involvement and the quandary it is to choose love over your dream job. Much like I think Grace Kelley faced. Author and narrator are always fantastic. You will really love this performance!
