Boring and a chore.

Proof Star Wars was already pretty terrible even before Disney threw it in the dumpster. This was all political setup and zero delivery on story. I should qualify that to say it’s “normal” galactic style politics and not the modern day agenda driven politics that leaks into every form of entertainment these days. That doesn’t make it better, just un-preachy. I’m continuing on to Book Two out of sheer stubbornness to satisfy my completionist tendencies.

The narration was very good, but the sound effects on this one were obstructive. Just too much, too loud, and too annoying. I listened at 2.50x - 3.00x to get through it. Some of the character voices did not translate well to that speed, but I found myself really not caring. I just wanted it to be over.

This is just a mental health/abuse novel in a Fantasy wrapper. Also the last book of which I will read or listen that is based on another’s work.

Narration was fine, I suppose. I listened at 3.50x and was still able to understand everything. *shrug*

Desperate Need Of An Editor

This review really is intended for all of Jonathan Cahn’s works. I don’t at all disagree with his message. However, Cahn’s delivery can often border on abysmal. His propensity to repeat himself and proclivity toward horoscope level word association games only serve to dilute his much more revelatory messages. That’s unfortunate.

Specific to this book, the amount of time spent on Ishtar could have easily been condensed to a third of its length and provided a clearer message. I had to speed up the playback to 3.00x just to maintain my sanity. He was starting to read a bit like a Nostradamus acolyte.

I’m hopeful for more precision in his future works, and I do look forward to them.

Still my favorite story … ever.

This isn’t a story of Horror. It’s a story of peril, of friendship, of kinship, of overcoming everything and anything life has to throw at you. And IT’s an 11 out of 5.

Narration is amazing.. at 1.0x all the way to 2.0x. One of the best I’ve heard on audible.

Nonsense

This isn’t a book or even a story, really. It’s an SNL skit best experienced as an audiobook. I wouldn’t recommend listening to this from start to finish. Best visit it in short snippets. Giggle. Then move on and return later.

I’m giving it 3 Stars, because it deserves 5 and the Internet isn’t a place to say or do nice things. Or maybe I’m just trying to lower your expectations.

If you’ve always wanted more Zombies in your Star Wars, look no further. Just be careful what you wish for. I think if this was just a story about zombies in space, I might have liked it more. Using Star Wars as the backdrop was just weird for me. I didn’t care for it. 2.5 stars rounded up because it’s at least pre-Disney era insufferable agenda.

The narration track was garbled at times, and I have no idea why. It seems that way with a lot of these Star Wars Audio Books. Maybe it’s the lower download quality I chose. Not sure. But it’s distracting. The music and sound fx were a little much as well. The narrator is quite good though.

A Fair Sequel

Maybe a little less gruesome than the first. Not entirely an Alice in Wonderland tale, but a pretty good Fantasy novel at any rate.

Listened in one sitting at 2x. Narration editing in this production was better this time. Less breathy and less mouth noises.

Terribly Overlong, Self Indulgent

It’s not that I disagree with the authors of this book, it’s that I find them extraordinarily long winded. This could have been shortened to half the length and still adequately explained the subject matter. As it is, I’m exhausted having been beaten soundly about the ears for hours on end with redundant arguments and quote after quote after endless quote on supportive scriptural verse. I can’t figure out if the authors were trying to convince me.. or themselves.. or if, more likely, I was not at all their intended audience. This work seems aimed at biblical scholars with opposing points of view.

After listening to this, I am quite put off by any further discussions on biblical doctrine and will likely also set aside my Bible for a week or two. Not exactly the desired outcome for their audience, I’m sure. I’m left feeling quite tired and sullen.

Enlightening Perspective

I can tell that the author sincerely cares about the message he’s communicating. He’s passionate and unapologetic. That’s refreshing. I can also tell he’s invested a tremendous amount of time in research, study and reflection. I may not wholeheartedly agree with *all* of his conclusions, but I do find it all viable food for thought as I continue in my own personal quest for knowledge.

If you read/listen to this work, be prepared to be challenged and pray for discernment.

The Virtual Voice narration was more than adequate for this book.
