Historia
At the end of the Second World War, Cyril Conroy combines luck and a single canny investment to begin an enormous real estate empire, propelling his family from poverty to enormous wealth. His first order of business is to buy the Dutch House, a lavish estate in the suburbs outside of Philadelphia. Meant as a surprise for his wife, the house sets in motion the undoing of everyone he loves. The story is told by Cyril’s son Danny, as he and his older sister, the brilliantly acerbic and self-assured Maeve, are exiled from the house where they grew up by their stepmother.

Having Tom read this book was a great decision. There is nothing this man can’t do. It felt like an old friend was telling you a story. The book itself was very good with lots of life lessons woven throughout. I hope you enjoy it.

When Frank Morris and brothers John and Clarence Anglin boldly escaped from Alcatraz prison on June 11, 1962, it is widely believed that they succumbed to the waters of San Francisco Bay, though no trace of the men has ever been found, only their makeshift raft.

Interesting but BORING!!!!
Revisado: 03-30-25
This story repeats the same facts so many time it could be shortened by 76%. I learned a lot of very interesting things about the truth behind the escape. The author tries to paint these men as something more than what they were. Which is a group of criminals from a very early age who were always looking for the quick buck. But we’re so stupid that they got caught all of the time. So there not heroes just guys who had a penchant for escaping prison.

Historia
Frederick Fife was born with an extra helping of kindness in his heart. If he borrowed your car, he’d return it washed with a full tank of gas. The problem is there’s nobody left in Fred’s life to borrow from. At eighty-two, he’s desperately lonely, broke, and on the brink of homelessness. But Fred’s luck changes when, in a bizarre case of mistaken identity, he takes the place of grumpy Bernard Greer at the local nursing home. Now he has warm meals in his belly and a roof over his head—as long as his poker face is in better shape than his prostate and that his look-alike never turns up.

A little over the top
Revisado: 03-03-25
Overall a good story and the narration was excellent. But the constant life and death battles got a little boring. The ending was disappointing I was hoping for something different. But I don’t want to spoil it for someone else. I recommend this and hope you enjoy it.
