Ok if you want a YP romance. Although it did have some interesting plot elements it was Not what I was looking for in Adult fantasy.

More Romance than Sherlock

This is the last book in the series for me. I like the main character and the mysteries are interesting but the Victorian Romance keeps increasing. I fear the next book will be a real Bodice Ripper. If you enjoy Romance and mystery these stories are fine. Just not for me.

Too much Romance

In general I like the concept of reimagining Sherlock Holmes as a woman but there is far too much time spent on romantic subplots. The story does hold my interest, so far, but if the romance increases I will probably loose interest.

Disappointed

This story had a good start but then died a pitiful death. While I enjoyed the premise the author just couldn’t hold my interest. When one sentence would have been sufficient he used a dozen and dragged things out. The final insult was the ending. Just too simplistic and obvious. I will not buy the next book in the series.

Death is Important

Bob Thurman is one of my most cherished teachers and Death is a subject that holds great interest for me. I will be listening to this class many times in the future to help prepare myself for this life’s ultimate transition. Thank you Bob.

Too much romance

Too much romance and not enough monsters. It would have been a bit more tolerable if the romance was not so childishly written. I did enjoy the general societal construct with mages and the undead curse. I just wish there was more maturity in the romantic encounters.

Good Start then Crash & Burn

I like the concept and the first third of the book was ok, then it got very bad very fast. It degenerated into a simplistic, poorly written story that did not go anywhere. I gave it a couple of hours more hoping it would improve but erased it with 2 hours left because it was a waste of my time.

Darker and Darker

The Dresden Files is going the way of many other adventure series. Its getting lest humorous and more dark and maudlin. The previous books had much more humor with a smattering of suffering. Now it’s mostly soul searching angst and suffering with a bit of humor.

Needs better classification

This should be categorized as a Young Adult, Video Game book. The story summary sounded interesting but the blow by blow details of endless virtual reality battles made me increase the reading speed to 1.5 just to make it end. 30 hours of virtual combat and a bit of teen romance…. And no alien enemy!? Not buying any more of this series.

Great Cozy Mystery

Good writing and excellent performance by the narrator. A wonderful example of the genre. Relaxing and interesting. A shame the following books in the series are not available in Audible format. I hope they are soon.
