Liked the stroyline, didnt love the writing.

I don't know if its the author being overly descriptive, but it almost felt more insulting to the reader, like she thought we were idiots. "The highly trained FBI agents were very thorough in processing the scene..." then she goes on in great detail all the nobrainer things the detectives did , ike took photos and notes ect. Well, I hope an FBO agent would be well trained to be in their position. The overly descriptiveness was kind of a bore.

I felt like the writing style was elementary with a lot of he said and she said that distracted me from the story itself. I actually enjoyed the plot of the book and liked the twists. I thought I had it figured out a few times, but she did keep me on my toes.

Having spent a significant time in Traverse City i found the local mentions to be fun. Without that draw, I'm not positive the writing style could have kept me engaged until the end.

slow burn, slow story, just slow

I tried on 3 separate occasions to listen to this and it's still a DNF for me. The voice actors were fine the story was just really slow and boring.

I've listened to a fee by thus author before and thus was definitely my favorite. It took me a few chapters to get into the story, but then I was hooked. I loved how the h went from week and walked all over, to strong and BA. my only complaint is the overkill of the word "however". The combination between the excessive use of the word (some chapters it was used DOZENS of times. 13 was rough.) and the Narrator pausing after every use. I had to skip half of chapter 13 because it was so obnoxious. If you can overlook that, it was a great story!!

Loved the narration, didn't love the story

I struggled to get through this one. I loved the plot of the story but the characters didn't do it for me. I felt like all Alice did was whine and complain, and nothing was ever enough for her. I also had a hard time believing that Brandon instantly fell in love with Alice after 1 encounter where they didn't speak, and a second encounter where she pretty much told him to get lost. Then Brandon gets upset that Alice didn't instantly love him back? I also don't think I could have taken one more angsty use of the word "man" or "dude".
The saving grace for me was the Narrator. She did a great job embodying each character and was honestly all that kept me engaged until the end.

I love a good YA, but I think this one was just a bit too juvenile for me.

So many emotions. What a rollercoaster

If you're reading this, than I'm sure you've already read the description and don't need me to write it again. This is my thoughts on the overall storyline and the narrator.

I've read one book by Meg Xuemie before, and I enjoyed it, but this one blew me away. I don't know if my imagination just isn't as vivid, but the narrator in this was incredible. Between Meg's storytelling and the narrator's ability to bring the characters to life I felt like I was IN this story. Her ability to change between characters and give each one their own personality made this series an experience. As the h matured throughout the books the narrators voice grew stronger for her. She injected passion into each H and I could feel the emotions grow stronger. Every high had my heart racing, and every low felt like it touched my heart with a burning pain. Without getting too graphic, the intimate scenes were.... wow. Holy effing shit, WOW.

I can't recommend this series enough, but I HIGHLY encourage you to listen, instead of reading it.

Second Chance Love

Daisy and Scout are friends in highschool and have one moment together before going their separate ways.. Fast forward a few years and they have one week of amazing friendship and passion before going their separate ways yet again.
I absolutely love how Daisy is so strong and actually puts herself and her passions first. She has a good head on her shoulders. Scout is the gorgeous and talented town hotty with a very bright future ahead of him. Their passion was so obvious and hot. The book was written so well that you feel what the characters were feeling. I love that it was kind of a slow burn to them finally admitting they can't live without each other, but there was still plenty of steam throughout the entire book. There wasn't a single part where I thought geeze this is slow or will it ever happen!?!?
The narrators both did am amazing job telling the story and I was entranced by their voices. I just loved this story so much, and I know it will be one that I come back to over and over again whenever I need a mood booster. I can't wait to listen to Scout's brother story.

This book I could have sworn was headed one way, but holy cow was that a curve I didn't see coming! There is a cliffhanger, but the next book is already out (I checked 🤣). OMG was this so good. I absolutely love the brothers and each of their individual personalities. It has strong male lead's and an even stronger female. Highly recommend.

Sweet and Sexy

I absolutely loved this story. It was exactly what I needed. Sweet and sexy without any major drama, heartache, and absolutely no cliffhanger. It's a light-hearted read that isn't too serious, yet has seriously amazing and loveable characters. I haven't checked to see if this is in a series yet, but my fingers are crossed for more Owens brother. 🤤
Highly recommend when you're in the mood for something light, and needing an emotional cup filling.

I was sucked into the world from the first chapter

This was my first time ever reading/ listening to anything by this author, and now I'm kicking myself that I haven't found her sooner.
I was immediately drawn into Genesis' world. I love her spunky, unique, and fierce personality. She was in every way a perfect match for Costa. Their chemistry was hoooot.
I won't restate the summary because you've probably already read it if you're looking at reviews. So what you need to know is this audio book has action, suspense, and so much heat. The characters are incredibly developed and so lovable. The story flows so smoothly, and there's not one part where I got bored or thought the book was slow. The complete opposite actually. I devoured this entire audio in 2 days, and am so sad to see it end.

There were a few flaws with the narrator. A cough, throat clearing, or repeated line. Nothing so distracting to pull you away from the story. Besides those small flaws, the narrator did a fantastic job voicing the different characters and putting emotions into them.

I haven't laughed so much reading/listening to a book in a long time! I woke my husband up I was laughing so hard, more than once! This book is absolute gold and a must listen!!!! It's hilarious, sweet, and has all the feels.
