Historia
Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders. But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.

Great!
Revisado: 05-31-23
This was a book I did not want to stop listening to. At one point I stopped just to check if there was a sequel yet! Yes, some familiar tropes, but carried In interesting ways. Characters worth rooting for. ❤️

Happy people being happy together. It’s all good feels. It’s a good story of revisiting old friends and trying again.

But Emmie’s plan backfires when a mix-up has the wrong guy following her clues!

cringe Christmas
Revisado: 12-02-21
I picked this book, I love sweet, Christmas books. I love Hallmark Christmas movies-I'm already that person. This was too much even for someone who loves the sweet, happy ending, romantic holiday story. My son walked in while I was working on nutcracker costumes and listening and said, oh, goodness, cringe Christmas, and it stuck. It's overly descriptive, dramatic, and just uncomfortable. I'm sad about it, because the idea is adorable, but execution is awful.

"I said"
Revisado: 12-14-20
I can't decide if this would be better if I read it instead of listened, but I got to point where I wanted to give up entirely on the story because I couldn't hear the word 'said' one more time. I like the characters, I like the storyline, I like the plot timing. If you like all those things and still really consider not finishing because you can't take hearing that someone said something one more time, you know it's excessive.

The performance- so good.
Revisado: 02-20-16
Would you consider the audio edition of Six of Crows to be better than the print version?
I loved the audio version, there are a few books where the readers just do an amazing job and its its better than reading it yourself- this is one of those
Who was your favorite character and why?
Great character building in this book, but Inej is my favorite. She holds the tension of her life beautifully- she is tightrope walker metaphorically as well as practically: is vulnerable and strong, is realistic and hopeful.
Which scene was your favorite?
Kaz's boat flashback- perfectly placed in the story, well described and poignant.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
No mourners, no funerals.
Any additional comments?
It is really fun book, just gritty enough.

Revisado: 02-27-13
What did you love best about Eat and Run?
I love everything about it, but especially the tips at the end of each chapter.
What other book might you compare Eat and Run to and why?
Barbara Kingsolver's 'Animal, Vegetable, Miracle' As they both blend food consciousness with life stories.
What about Quincy Dunn-Baker’s performance did you like?
He was funny, the inflections were all right on.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
We laughed a lot, cried a little. I read it partially on my long run days...his story makes you unable to give up at like mile while he is running 100, and partially on a family road trip- everyone liked it.
