Cute story with quirky characters

I chose this book because I love Jana DeLeon's stories. The great-aunt is hilarious and many of the townspeople are adorable. There are also lots cats and a resident ghost. How much more cozy mystery can it get than that? I'm looking forward to more of the stories in this series. I realize that it is a collaboration between several authors, I just wish that Jana had written another book in the collection. A fun read/listen!

Cute story

A cute story with an unexpected villain and ending. I loved the cat and dog pets. As the first book in a series, you have to expect lots of characters. Unfortunately there were so many that it was often hard to keep everyone straight.

This is the second audiobook that I've listened to with computer generated narration. My first experience was so bad that I couldn't listen beyond the third chapter. This book was better and I was able to finish it. However the narration left much to be desired. I'm glad it was free as part of my subscription. Good story though.

Tried to finish, but just couldn't take any more

I love paranormal and fantasy series. This author's titles have shown up in my "Recommended For You" section, so I was looking forward to listening to them. What a disappointment!

I want an interesting story with some hot sex scenes. The first book had a nonexistent story, and 95% of it was sex. I tried running the speed at 1.5x in the second book to see if a story ever happened. Nope. I only made it halfway through the third book by using the 30 second skip button. It never improved.

The only positive comment I have is the narrators were excellent.

I am returning this book and won't buy any others from this author in the future.

Great Finish To A Wonderful Series!

I love Molly Harper's stories. Her characters are so real, and her snarky sense of humor is such fun. Mystic Bayou is an absolute delight. I'm so glad Alex finally met his match, and we also found out just who and what Eva was. I'm sorry to see the series end, but I've enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you Molly (and Amanda & Jonathan) for the many hours of entertainment!

Wonderful Memories!

I'm so glad I picked up this audiobook! The Carol Burnett Show was an entertainment staple enjoyed by my family when I was growing up. We laughed so hard when Carol wore the green velvet curtain rod dress in Went With the Wind. I remember watching the final show as a Junior in high school, and my family complaining, "What are we going to watch NOW??!!" (Thank goodness Dr. Demento was still on the radio at that time!)

This book was a lovely walk through remembered variety shows in a time when television actually had talented writers, actors, dancers, etc. TV today is so formulaic and unintelligent. I agree with Carol's comment that today's writers haven't experienced live theater or TV. I wish we could have shows like this one today, but I'm sure it would be too expensive. I'm so glad they are available on the internet.

If you want to spend some enjoyable time strolling along memory lane, I highly recommend this book!

Cute Cozy Mystery

This was a cute story with some interesting twists. I wanted to smack Ryan, the murdered woman's older son, for his repulsive behavior. I hope he gets some help with his attitude if he shows up in future books. The story ended rather abruptly, but the murder was solved. I love the ghost librarian and the cat is adorable!

This series just kerps getting better! I love the way the new characters blend in so well with previous ones. This installment will make you laugh and even shed a tear or two. As a novella, there isn't time for steamy scenes, and I appreciate being able to share this part of Mystic Bayou with my favorite younger folk. (They can enjoy the rest of the series when they're a little older.) As usual, Amanda and Jonathan are fantastic narrators. They make the story shine! Molly, please write more!!!

Much better than I expected!

I bought this audiobook because it was on special and included the entire series. I thought it was simply going to be another searching through the galaxy for alien tech story, but it was really good. The story is very funny, and the characters are great. Just when you think things are going badly, they get much worse. I especially enjoyed the grouchy pirate uncle and found the premise of an interstellar railway very unique. The narrator did an incredible job with the character voices.

Glad I didn't have to use a credit for this one!

I thought I'd try something out of my usual style of audio book. The cover looked cute, and the story sounded fun. All I can say is I just wasted several hours listening to this production, and it was a production with music, sound effects, useless pauses, and very little story. I imagine if you're a fan of reality TV shows like The Bachelor you might enjoy this, but I'm sure glad I didn't waste a credit on it.

The narrators, however, were absolutely top notch, and I'd be willing to listen to any of them in other stories. I was surprised to hear several of my favorite narrators (Amanda Ronconi and Josh Hurley), and am glad they were listed in the end credits.

Now I want more!

Carla Kelly is one of my all-time favorite authors. I was so excited to see that one of her books is finally an audiobook. I own every one of her books in print as well as ebook format. Her regency stories and westerns are extremely well researched, fun to read. and make you feel like you're right there with her characters. I've spent many happy hours rereading her stories, and now I hope to listen to them as well. The narrator did a fantastic job. Her British. Irish, and Virginian accents were a delight. Please make more audiobooks of Carla's stories. I'd love to hear Courting Carrie in Wonderland, Mrs. Drew Plays Her Hand, or any of the Royal Navy or St. Brendan's books. More please!!!
