I just love these books and being able to jump back into the lives of these beloved characters. Spider and Sugar. Birdie and the folks in Nocturnal Falls. And the very in love Jayne and Sin. The story was fun and ask the Christmassy stuff was exciting. So that food… omg. I’m full just listening to what Jayne eats. lol. But it all sounds so good.

Noel and Leon
Revisado: 05-04-16
Unwrapping Noel was a short story jam-packed with a lot of feeling. One of them was anger, I seriously wanted to knock Noel's ex-husband out. He was so selfish, taking advantage of Noel's kindness. I saw her kindness, in the beginning, as weakness because I wished she would have had more self-value to be someone else's doormat.
But it's when she meets a gorgeous silver fox of a man that she starts to see how much she's worth and she grows a backbone. Yes!!
Noel and Leon (look, their names are the same just spelled backward) started off strong and had a blip, because Leon had a past that scarred him as well. Of course, the ending was sweet and the beginning of their second chance.
I'd love to read more about them. Overall, it was a great story and the audio narrator was pretty good too.

Todd O'Malley has been called many things, from filthy mouthed jerk to legendary Rock God. A Good Short, Quick Read
Revisado: 04-05-16
This was a super short story, quick read, that gave us an inside look at someone that showed up in another series, Out of the Box. I didn't know that when I read it. And, because I hadn't read that series before I read this, I felt like it was too much of a quick telling. The story was just that... a lot of telling and not a lot of showing, BUT when it did get to the showing parts, those were really good. The whole things seemed fast, the love, the dating, the proposal, and I'm not sure if I felt like everything was resolved. But again, I think it's supposed to be that way. I need to read the other series so I can appreciate this more, because this rocker, Todd, was seriously hot!! I was rooting for him the whole time!
Besides the story itself and the writing, I'd like to speak about the narration, since I listened to this in audio format. I listen to a lot of audiobooks, most of the books I "read" are audiobooks. I even have favorite narrators. I thought the writing of Todd's (the MC) thoughts and the way he spoke were very fitting, but the narrator did not translate that. I honestly did not like the narrator very much at all. ( I hate saying anything negative at all, but if you're an audiobook connoisseur like I am, you'll appreciate the honesty) He sounded robotic, slightly monotone, no inflection for emotion or anything that the computerized feature on a Kindle couldn't do. It was a bit disappointing, because Todd had swagger, a certain way of speaking, and a lot of emotion. I just didnt get that from listening to it. If I didn't just force myself to concentrate on the words and the actual story, and not the way it was "read" to me, I would have given this 2 stars. However, I put aside the narration and pictured how Todd would have said what he said, while listening and it made it so much better.
This was the first book of Theriot I've read, and I will read more of hers. I think, if you're going to read this story, you should read the Out of the Box series first.

Historia
Here is the story of David as you have never heard it before: from the king himself, telling the unofficial version, the one he never allowed his court scribes to recount. In his mind, history is written to praise the victorious—but at the last stretch of his illustrious life, he feels an irresistible urge to tell the truth. In the first volume, Rise to Power, David gives you a fascinating account of his early years, culminating with a tribal coronation. Rooted in ancient lore, his is a surprisingly modern memoir.

Engrossing, Personable, and Poetic
Revisado: 08-24-14
This is the second book of Uvi's I've read and I enjoyed it. First, I'd like to say that the audio version is incredible and the narrator excellent. He truly did a wonderful job telling this story.
I am not well versed in the bible and did not really know the story of David. So this story was like reading any other historical fiction, but so much better.
The story begins with David ill and dying. As he fades away, losing his kingdom, he tells the story of his life. It is an interesting and well told story. It was history told in a modern way, which made it so easy to understand. There were no complicated words to look up or try to understand. It was all very straight forward. It made the flow of the story seamless.
David grew up with a struggle but a lot of smarts or luck on his side. As much trouble as he found, he seems to have weaseled his way out of it all. I was completely engrossed once David began to tell his story, and found his story telling to be personable and poetic.
If you like historical fiction and great story telling, I recommend this book to you.

Gut wrenching and Inspiring!
Revisado: 07-17-14
I accidentally posted this review to the first in the series and don't know how to change it. So, I'm here posting the review to Falling into You. :( Sorry. When I learn how to fix it, I will.
When people gush and gush about certain books and say they’re heart wrenching, I decide I want to read it so badly, but my heart makes me hold off. I finally gave in and, wow, am I glad I did.
This story, this journey, started off with high school kids being best friends and falling in love, and you think it’s a great love. BUT … and there’s always a but, stuff happens. Life happens and it sucks. And this stuff, hurts and had me snot sobbing for most of the book.
This was part of Kyle and Nell’s turning point.
“And now we’re learning how to fall in love together. I don’t care what any one else says. I
love you. I’ll always love you, no matter what happens with us in the future. I love you now and
forever.”
There are real life issues and they gut you. As it says in the summary, her first love dies… and it’s so tragic.
Kyle, during his last breaths can’t stop telling Nell that he loves her.
“You can’t Nell. Just… hold my hand. I love you”
Oh, boy. After his death, the pain and heartache. Jasinda writes these emotions so well. It made me feel like I lost someone. I could feel the pain so vividly. Her characters are well formed, more than, and the words are beautiful.
So, two years later we meet up with Nell again and see that she hasn’t healed, forgotten, or moved on. She’s still stuck in her pain and heartache. And with that pain comes serious issues that are dealt with. Again, Jasinda tackles these issues so well.
But Colton wants to help her, he feels a connection to her. She does also but does not want to admit it.
These are Colton’s words to her.
“I’m still trying to find the words to heal you,
To take your pain and make it all my own
So your beautiful eyes can smile,
So you can be at peace.
And now that Fate has intervened,
Conspired to draw us together,
I can’t resist the lure of your eyes,
The temptation of you beauty,
The siren song of you voice
Whispering my name
In the dark comfort between my sheets.
I can’t resist you, baby,
Because I’m falling still,
I’m falling into you.”
This story and these characters will leave an imprint under your skin. It’s a must read. It’s also the first book in a series, but can be read alone.

Gut wrenching but inspiring
Revisado: 07-17-14
This amazing sequel to Falling into You was just as heartbreaking and incredible. At first I was expecting a continuation of Colton and Nell’s story. Although they did make appearances, they were the main characters in the story, and that was more than all right.
Becca and Jason were best friends with Nell and Kyle since they were little. As we know in book one, Kyle dies, and we get to see how the two best friends deal with it.
In a story that takes us from high school to adulthood, we have a great read.
Becca and Jason had their own problems to deal with on top of their best friend’s death. It was a difficult road and every time things started to go good for them another disaster would strike. They went through so much. My heart broke for them each and every time something happened. I could barely keep my chest from tightening and my throat from constricting. But through it all, they had each other and their love never faltered. It kept them going.
Wilder did another great job building these characters and their relationships, thoughts, struggles, and fears. It’s always a special reading experience when reading a book and you can feel what the characters feel.
Becca expresses part of her daily struggles here:
“That’s me
The silent girl
The stutterer
The prisoner
The smart girl
The valedictorian scribbling maledictions to no one”
And here is a part of Jason’s thoughts:
“You’re my woman. Of course
I’m responsible for you. It’s my highest duty in life to take care of you, protect you.”
Here is both of them:
“Promise me you’ll love me forever. No matter what.”
“I can’t promise you forever, Beck. I can’t promise you forever, because that’s not long enough.”
So many stories I read are with the bad guy gone good when he meets his love. Well, Jason was always good. Becca was always good. Regardless of their struggles and pains, they were good people, good to each other. That was how they got through it all.
However, I think the performance lacked a bit. The man's voice could have been a bit more in touch with the character's emotions. It almost felt monotone throughout.
I recommend this story to those that enjoy some sexy times, struggles, angst, love, romance, and great characters.

Historical Western? No ... It's just an illusion.
Revisado: 02-21-14
This was a fantastic story. Set in current day, but feels like it goes back, almost historical. It's just an illusion and part of the mystery of the story. It's a wonderful plot with a great romance in the background. Truly had me hooked the whole time I listened.
The narrator did a wonderful job with the narrating. Each character had its own voice and I enjoyed the pace in which he spoke. His voice was almost hypnotic.
It's a small town, western, gun slinging, camaraderie, and take care of each other type of book. I truly enjoyed. There's not much more I can say without giving it away.
