very weak
Revisado: 12-29-24
this is, for me, the second weakest entry in the series.
the prose is bad at times
the pace is atrocious
sanderson commit something he preached against, several times in this book.
and the fan service, oh god, so much fan service.
and worse of all, we were promised the end of an arc, but this book just ends with another cliffhanger, with the author not aiming to publish anything new for years now.
this book should have had much harsher editing to make it good.

Historia
On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.

brilliant noar story
Revisado: 05-09-24
I'll start by saying. I am NOT a King's fan. I disliked most of what I read if his. but this book is something else. this book has a great love story, a great protagonist, decent enough ending.
I like the entire thing, start to end.

a tad choppy, but excellent start
Revisado: 03-15-24
I really enjoyed the book. it has the same prose "issues" I get in most of author's books (listened to 4) meaning I love the wolrd building, like the plot, kind if meh on the prose.
still, surely will continue to the next in the series

fun bit flawed bit of swashbuckling fun
Revisado: 01-30-24
this book has an odd pace in my opinion. the first climax is better in my opinion with the second, there are slow parts at the start, in general, took me a while to get into.
but it's still Butcher, which means lot of fun, the first climax is very satisfying if expected.
everything has good foreshadowing.
had fun.

nice ending
Revisado: 11-28-23
this book tie nicely the story. it's not without issues though.
the first thing, you evidently needs to read the novellas (which I only read one of, nit a fan of Jenci) this left me with big holes in the main plot.
second, there is a nice moment around the end of 2nd act, which is repeated at the end again. which feels like editing issue.
third: I almost skipped this book after Cythonic and the novellas, but forced myself to start it, hoping it would be a pallet cleanser before a heavier read, glad I did.

Historia
High fantasy adventure takes a turn with mystery in the final title in the Finder’s Stone Trilogy by Jeff Grubb and Kate Novak. When the Harpers judged the Nameless Bard responsible for the death of his apprentices, they sentenced him to exile and obscurity. Now the Harpers are reconsidering their decision, but with the arrival of the monster Grypht, Nameless’ new trial dissolves in a string of disappearances and murder. It is up to the bard’s friends, Alias the swordswoman, Akabar the mage, Dragonbait the paladin, and Ruskettle the thief, to prove one enemy is behind all the chaos - the ancient evil god, Moander the Darkbringer.

the conclusion book no one asked for
Revisado: 10-15-23
i read the first two books of this series and was amused. they were pulpy fun. this book, on the other hand, feels like someone forced the authors to finish the trilogy. but it gives us answers for questions no one asked.
it's decent enough read, for a 30 years old dnd book.
but it's not good. and unlike the first 2 books, doesn't feel fresh.
the first is a whoisthehero mystery.
the second is a whosdoneit mystery
the third is whosgonnareadit mystery

great conclusion
Revisado: 06-10-23
what a ride this has been.
I will split my review to 3 parts.
up to the mid point, this was wow. really bang on.
from the mid point to the end of act 3, a tad repetitive.
will had to get 7 characters to their arc's conclusion in this book.and it feels like it's repeating for 4 characters or so with very similar power up routes.
act 4, now this is interesting, we knew it's going there, but still it feels rewarding but very rushed.
I don't think it should gave been a book on its own. but I wanted more.
I didn't like the way technology differ from Magic all of the sudden, that was my one disappointment here.

serviceable. decent. without structure
Revisado: 05-02-23
this book, very much like the first is fun, episodic fantasy.
every few chapters feels like a standalone story without much of an overarching narrative.
it's decently written, although the Protagonist having a tad on an easy life. he's just winning everything he try. there are too much exposition.
I doubt I'll continue to book 3

this book deliver exactly what is promised. from the prologue we know how it would go. which does mean following the story isn't fun.
there are several issues which feels very old, but this book is quite old today.
