Great Story, Terrible Narration

The story itself was great. It pulled me in so quickly I had to listen to all 10 hours even though the narration was awful. The narrator played such odd emphasis on words it was totally disjointed and distracting. She also ended every sentence (or part of a sentence) with the same inflection. There were pauses in weird places. Overall, I will avoid this narrator like the plague. I recommend reading the book or finding it ready by someone else.

Good Story, Off-putting Narration

I liked the story a lot. Both characters were likeable and story was engaging.

The narration left a lot to be desired. I will say that this computerized narration is the best I've heard so far, but it still was a little bit distracting. I was able to finish the boon and with previous computerized voices I have not been able to get past the first chapter. Major issues with the narration for me was lack of variation in tone which made it dialogue difficult to decipher. This was especially problematic since the whole thing was voiced by the same voice and the female parts were really hard to distinguish from the male...especially given that the female character has a traditionally male name. There were multiple times when I had to back the story up to figure out what was going on. The narration was also somewhat choppy and there would be sentences that did not flow. Words and abbreviations related to the medical professions like OR and ER were pronounced like "or" and "er" which was also amusing if not distracting.

The story was great. The natrators were very stilted and I would have quit after the first hour or so except that the story pulls you in and you have to finish it.

5 Days to Love?

First off, the male narrator is incredibly grating. Hiss voice for himself is fine, but when he voices any female characters it is terrible -- and there is a lot of that.

I also found the story somewhat unbelievable. Famous dude meets hotel maid. They have sex and then within a few dates they know each other's life story and are in love. It's just not a realistic storyline and since it is not well executed by the narrators, I would skip this one.

Lingus Audiolibro Por Mariana Zapata arte de portada

Anything by Mariana Zapata is good.

I love Mariana Zapata for so many reasons. I've listened to all but one that she has on audible and they all (including this one) share a few key characteristics that I love.

1) The female lead isn't a whiny pushover. That doesn't mean the female lead is always self-assured without insecurity but she works through it, tries to do the right thing, etc.

2) Character development. I love the way she builds her characters so you love them even with their flaws.

3) Believable storyline. I tire quickly of the stories where two people jump into bed and are suddenly madly in love. Zapata takes the time to really build a relationship between the main characters and that relationship is usually well into place before she places the characters in bed together.

4) Humor. I get a good laugh regularly.

I highly recommend her books.

This book is worth every minute of the listening time. It's got everything you could want in a book: suspense, mystery, a well developed story and characters, enough humor to keep it interesting and of course a few steamy scenes sprinkled throughout. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

I loved basically everything about this book. First, the narration is very good. Secondly, the story line is believable. I can't stand when the characters jump into bed together after 5 minutes and immediately fall in love. That's not love, that's lust. Yes, there is plenty of steam in this book but it's got a longer time line and the characters eventual love is much more believable. Thirdly (or maybe along with the second point) I love the female character. Yes, you have a strong alpha male but the female doesn't sit around waiting for him to rescue her. I have no patience for weak girls who are always turning to a man to save them. Lastly, the secondary characters are fairly well developed and I'm excited to delve into their stories with the upcoming books. In fact, I may or may not have already purchased the next book in the series.
