Female narrator was difficult to listen through. The sex scenes were weirdly uncomfortable and narcissistic. While also being described with way too much extraneous details. I will pass on the female narrator and author.

Not enough Jacob Morgan

Struggled through female narrator chapters and she was the majority. This story did not keep me interested but not certain how much the narrator impacted that. Jacob was great. Wish you could rate narrator’s separately.

When they said dark I did not realize it would include the male lead getting off while cutting out a man’s tongue and then butchering him because he was rude in a coffee shop. Not my cup of tea.

Disappointing start

The side characters were so insufferable and the main characters were put into so many impossibly frustrating situations. Her family needed to be abandoned. His brother and the media folks should have been effectively been told off/ abandoned. Then they brush over the truth and make embarrassing excuses when by rational people.

Waaaay too much God / prayer makes the difference

Almost did not finish. Want to know how to solve crime - pray to God and he’ll take care of it. Stop praying and you’re screwed. The over use of this ruined what might have been an interesting read. Will not continue.

A bit cringeworthy

Did not care for the narrator but it was really just a perfect storm of lamely weak leading lady, disappointing narrator performance and truly cringey writing.

He sounds like a 60 year old prig most of the time but his female voices were THE WORST. I will not continue series I almost stopped 3 or 4 times before suffering through to the end.

I would re-listen and continue series if they ever re-recorded.

Ultimately Disappointing

Final 2 hours = F. Super frustrating bizarre sacrificial choices. Hated the last two hours after forcing myself through the first 20. Will not read the next omnibus by this author/narrator combo.

Narration=C. Scottish burr was hard to listen to. Like others have mentioned, American accent in later books was bizarre as were the final Logan chapters - weird.
