Wonderful!
Revisado: 01-15-23
I've listened to all 12 of the brooch books and when I finish each one I think, "Oh, wow! That's the best one of all!" It seems I'm alway wrong, because they just get better and better. I rave about them to my friends that are readers. But this one...I laughed, held my breath in excitement and fear, and I cried. At the end I felt like I'd lost my best friend because the book was over. I can't wait for the next one.

Pitiful
Revisado: 07-07-22
While I have read or listened multiple books of several authors in this book, I find the stories in this collection pitiful. The vast majority of these stories sound like they were written by very young children and told by people who are not very good at what they do, if this is an example of their work. I would not recommend this book to anyone.

Not a fan at all
Revisado: 06-09-22
Did not care for the theatrics, especially all the loud noises. If I wanted to listen to a movie I would. The book wasn’t very well written. The story didn’t flow well.

Not as good as the Stealth Ops
Revisado: 02-19-22
While the books are ok, they aren’t as good as Stealth Ops. But my biggest complaint is the male reader. He’s really terrible. I would recommend this box set in book form.

I'd hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
Revisado: 12-03-21
I have read a lot of these type of books and have read most of Tom Clancy's books (not a fan of all of his series either). This book has good bones, but was so focused on the military equipment and the various capabilities of said equipment, weapons, ammunition, etc that the actual story was not developed well. Most of the characters are one-dimensional. Greaney starts to develop some and then they are left flat before he kills them off. I couldn't tell if he tried to use too many intermediate characters in too many locations or if he tried to use too much military action to distract from the poor story and character development. The concept was interesting, but it was not well developed at all.. Basically, he developed the bones of a book, then wrote a book about the various weapons and equipment and their abilities, and purposes, while blowing up and shooting up people, equipment, cities and countryside.
Marc Vietor was really terrible. He did not differentiate the various characters voices well at all. Many sounded alike and his female voices were especially poor. I spent a good part of the time trying to figure out who was thinking or speaking because of this.
I've listened to all the Grey Man books, so this is not my first book by Mark Greaney. The Grey Man series is much better than this book. If this had been my first Greaney book, it would have also been the last. I kept expecting it to improve, but sadly it did not.

I’ve listened to nearly all DG Swank’s books. This is the worst one. It’s a teen love story wrapped in a dysfunctional family. I kept hoping it would improve. It didn’t.

I wouldn't recommend this book
Revisado: 06-13-20
I have listened to one other series, Killer Instinct, of Ms. Eden's books and it was a much better series. I thought I would try another series. It's not the content of the book, because the premise was not an issue. However, I think it was poorly written and boring. The reader was not very good either. I very nearly returned this book twice...I wish I had. I may give another series a try, but If it is as bad as this one, I'm going to scratch Ms. Eden from my listening list.

A little short
Revisado: 04-30-20
I have listened to all 13 of the books in currently publication AND read the 'free' booklet from Carson's website. I purchased the first 4 and the next 3 in 'boxsets'. Had I not done that, I probably would not have listened to any beyond the first. I wish the remaining 6 had been in boxsets as well. They are very short and in my personal opinion a little over priced. However, the story lines, characters and Wolf's thought processes are interesting to follow. While I don't think they are spell-binding or fascinating in the extreme, they are certainly entertaining. The progress of the life and career of David Wolf is both sad & complicated at times and normal & uncomplicated at others. Neither his personal life or his career are all sunshine and roses...all endings are not happy. So, in this aspect of the stories, they are like the lives of most people and relatable. I would recommend the books, if you aren't looking for fast paced, action packed, thrillers. Theses books are slower paced and more of the characters lives are filled out. The lives of those around Wolf are more involved his life and career than in books by other authors. He can be a 'lone wolf', but most often relies on those he works with to help solve the mysteries. He can be both a team player and a solo hunter. I enjoyed them.
