Historia
When your eyes land on a complete stranger on the train, and the world around you stops. When the stranger says hello, and your heart stops, too. When the universe answers your prayers and he's there, next day, on the train. A man so powerful—brooding with darkness and secrets. I knew there was going to be more. I wanted more. When the stranger is reading one of your favorite novels, and you're reading one of his. When you think the universe can't be any kinder, but it truly delivers the jackpot of all jackpots and two opposite worlds collide, as though it was meant to be.

I absolutely love Jade West but this one was a HUGE miss for me. I just don’t want death and sadness mixed with my dark romance. I want to finish with a smile not in tears.

Historia
"Happy birthday, Raven. Welcome to Noir Reformatory." Not what every girl wants to hear on her 18th birthday, but I accepted my fate long ago. I was born with black wings, earning me a permanent jail sentence from day one. A noir angel for life. That's fine. I'll own this prison just like I did back home. Even if it's ruled by two hot kings.

Love the story but…
Revisado: 02-20-23
The narration was difficult to listen to. The male narration was good but the female sounded all wrong and childish. She had me grinding my teeth every time she spoke and it really took effort to overcome but the storyline kept me listening.

Historia
Previously known as the Murdaugh Murders Podcast, True Sunlight is the intersection of True Crime, journalism and systematic corruption. Celebrated journalists Mandy Matney and Liz Farrell are taking their style of reporting beyond Alex Murdaugh and his co-conspirators. We expose the truth wherever it leads giving voice to victims like Mica Francis, Sara Lynn Colucci, and Christa Gilley, while still pursuing justice for all the victims you've met so far like Stephen Smith, Dallas Stoller, and others. True Sunlight is the antithesis of True crime. True Sunlight values accuracy over "...

More commercials than info! 🤬
Revisado: 10-05-22
This podcast had the potential to provide so much information and explain so much of the confusion surrounding this case so I was very excited to find it. Unfortunately the commercials far outweigh the actual podcast and information is lost between the endless money grabs making this a sad waste of time. I can certainly understand the need to bring in revenues in order to cover costs related to producing such a podcast, but this is excessive to an extreme that forces me to look elsewhere for the information I had hoped to find..

I am a Sovereign Son. A king within the Society. With a look, I send men to their knees. Yet she stands tall against me, taunting me with her rebellion. But we all have rules we must live by. Even me. And I have broken the most sacred. I took her to my bed. I claimed that which did not belong to me. And now that the beast within has had a taste, it wants more.

So happy Mercedes and Judge finally have their own stories!
Revisado: 07-17-22
I loved Mercedes and Judge’s story most especially their ending. My only complaint is that the male narrator read like Captain Kirk and his attempt to give Santiago an accent despite the fact that he never had one in previous stories was annoying as well. His pronunciation needs work too. However I thought the female narrator did a fantastic job. I’m glad I got this trilogy and finally got to know Mercedes better, actually found her likable despite my previous impression of her, and was happy she finally had her own story.

Historia
I live in a world where secrecy reigns—a society rooted in power, wealth, and long-held dynasties, where men are kings, and women are pawns. For as long as I can remember, I’ve dreamt of escaping the shackles of my expectations, but it can only ever be a dream. I made a fatal mistake, and those shackles became a cage. Now, I’m trapped in a war with a man who controls my every move. He’s my brother’s best friend. My enemy, my tormentor, and my solace. His words have the power to wound me. His touch just might break me.

From the first night I bedded her, I knew I was playing with fire. And now I must face the consequences. I betrayed my best friend. A man who was more a brother to me than my own blood. And now I fear I have lost her too. She claims men hold all the power in our world, but she has brought me to my knees. I love her. I know that now. Too little too late. Breaking a heart is easy. Mending one is more complicated. But a predator lies in wait of her. And I’ll do anything I must to keep her safe.

Historia
Human sacrifice still goes on uncomfortably close to home - cases have been found in the U.S., Europe, and the United Kingdom. In other parts of the world, such as South America, ritual killing is almost commonplace. Human Sacrifice investigates the terrifying current spate of human sacrifices and ritual killings. Jimmy Lee Shreeve draws on police reports and interviews with the victims' families to paint a horrifying picture of ritual sacrifice at home and abroad.

Well worth listening to…
Revisado: 07-03-22
I found this book to be very interesting and never a dull moment. I’ve seen reviews criticizing the author but I would point out to any potential listener that the author does a great job of breaking up horrifying examples of human sacrifice with his dry wit and entertaining personal stories related to magic. Additionally, claims that the author is justifying the practice of human sacrifice don’t sit well with me. First off, the author clearly states more than once that he does not support ritual killings and in expressing his opinions about various religions says “ they are meant to be a catalyst for further discussions and debates not the final word“. While he points out that people from varying religions may have some bias towards other religions at no point does he state that the same does not apply to him. I do not believe that he defends nor supports human sacrifice or any of the belief systems that may incorporate that activity nor do I believe that he is trying to justify such a practice. He is simply recounting various instances of human sacrifice, expressing his feelings and relating his experiences with magic, in putting out ideas that may in part explain such activity. I found this to be an interesting listen because it includes cases both historical and recent, some I was aware of and some I was not, and presents them in an interesting way with some humorous interludes to break up the overreaching darkness of this topic. Despite being Christian myself, I don’t feel the need to have an ideological debate with the author because we have differing beliefs, rather I find myself compelled to do exactly what this Author was hoping for: I find myself discussing and debating this topic with my peers. I don’t find any insidious purpose hidden within this book by this author. If this topic interests you, and you are not looking for a debate or argument about ideologies, this book is for you. If you are seeking to debate and argue ideologies there are far more appropriate books for you.

Historia
In early 2000, Adnan Syed was convicted and sentenced to life plus thirty years for the murder of his ex-girlfriend Hae Min Lee, a high school senior in Baltimore, Maryland. Syed has maintained his innocence, and Rabia Chaudry, a family friend, has always believed him. By 2013, after almost all appeals had been exhausted, Rabia contacted Sarah Koenig, a producer at This American Life, in hopes of finding a journalist who could shed light on Adnan’s story. In 2014, Koenig's investigation turned into Serial, a Peabody Award-winning podcast with more than 500 million international listeners.

A must listen!
Revisado: 04-17-22
I have had my own thoughts, opinions and beliefs about this case from the very beginning of this tragic case. Admittedly I am no expert, criminologist, detective, or unparalleled and insightful sleuth with untold experience in such cases. I am however a person with a deep desire to see justice prevail and injustice exposed and overcome. While I have never forgotten Adnan and Hae’s story and have followed new developments and revelations in the case through documentaries, news outlets, numerous articles/blogs/podcasts I am extremely grateful to Rabia Chaudry for writing this book. To have so much information written in such a concise and comprehensive way presented in one place in such a way that even a layman like myself can comprehend such complexities has been tremendously helpful. While she makes no qualms about her complete belief and faith in Adnan and his innocence this book is far from a biased loved one railing at the world about horrible injustices committed against Adnan. It is a fact finding and myth debunking (in many cases lie exposing) exploration of the case against Adnan with many outside sources with various expertise, skills and talents who were am impassioned and outraged by various aspects of both the investigation, prosecution, biases and bigotry that plague this case. It is a search for justice for both Adnan and Hae with a wealth of information I was previously unaware of, as well as much information that I was, compiled in one place and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone who has a deep seated interest, desire and need to see justice prevail in a broken legal system overwhelmed by injustices.

Phenomenal! Love, Lust, Danger, Intrigue and so much more… What more could you ask for?! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Revisado: 03-16-22
I love all of Joey W. Hill’s novels but her Vampire Queen series is by far my favorite. The longing, lust, love and angst she so remarkably conveys with her unsurpassed storytelling draws you so thoroughly in that reality ceases to exist until the very last word. The world and characters she creates are so very detailed from the first few pages you find you’ve fallen so far down such a deep, dark, dangerous and unbelievably erotic rabbit hole you hope to never come back up. That’s what makes her such a phenomenal author and my absolute favorite far and above any other!
Keira Grace did a good job with the first book but I must say I found her narration for The Mark of Vampire Queen to be far better and excitedly look forward to hearing her narrate A Vampire’s Claim.

I thought no alpha could tame me. I was wrong. Many men have tried to master me, but never one like Aric. He is not just an alpha, he is a fearsome beast, and he means to take for himself what warriors and kings could not conquer. I thought I could fight him, but his mere presence forced overwhelming, unimaginable need upon me, and now it is too late. I'm about to go into heat, and what comes next will be truly shameful.

Boring!
Revisado: 02-15-22
I love Sara Fields works but this one fell flat for me. It was entirely too slow and was very disappointing for a Sara Fields book. Despite this I still continue to follow her stories. After all no book is perfect and everyone has one that falls flat here and there. However the narration was done quite well and I have no complaints whatsoever with either narrator.
