Absolutely brilliant.
Revisado: 12-10-24
I can’t believe that it has taken me this many years to start reading Cain books. This book promises to be the start of a new favorite series. The author is very talented and the voice acting is top notch.

Historia
On the prison world of Zartak, darkness has fallen on arbitrators and inmates alike. The Night Lords have come, bringing with them the shadow of fear and pain. But these monsters are not the only ones with an interest in Zartak. From the void, running on silent, another fleet emerges. These Space Marine warriors are grey-clad and white-faced, and their eyes are as black as the Outer Dark – the savage Carcharodon Astra.

Excellent lore building for the Carcharadons
Revisado: 07-13-24
This was a well written solid story. The characters had depth and nuance. This is the second book that I have read that features the pale nomad and I was pleased to see that he remains an engaging character. This book left me wanting to know more of the lore of this chapter, which should always be a goal of a WH40K book. It should always leave you wanting to know more.
This was the first time had heard a performance by this reader and I thought he did an excellent job.

Revisado: 12-07-23
This started out so well. Wraight is an excellent author but the end was so disappointing. The epilogue in particular felt tacked on just to connect to the rest of the Dawn of Fire series.

Historia
With her mighty wings spread wide and Ardent Blade aflame, Saint Celestine is the living embodiment of the God-Emperor’s wrath. Her halo blazes like a star upon the smog-wreathed, blood-soaked battlefields of the 41st Millennium; its holy light leading the faithful to victory time and time again. As heretics and daemons tear at her flesh, she calls down fires of retribution from on high to smite the wicked and unrighteous. If she is to fall in battle, none should mourn as she is Celestine, the Living Saint, and death is her duty.

Great story and fantastic narration
Revisado: 09-17-23
The Living Saint’s backstory was well written and fitted well into the overall story. It was a tad underfleshed for my liking but overall worth a read. Emma Gregory once again demonstrates why she is a top tier narrator.

Slow start but picks up quickly
Revisado: 09-08-23
I was not familiar with this author previously but this was an excellent story. It started out slow, although, truthfully, that could just have been me getting used to his writing style. Within a couple of chapters, I was totally engrossed. I look forward to more works by this author. Additionally, I really like the reader and I look forward to hearing her read more as well.

Historia
The Sisters of Battle are the Emperor's most devout worshippers, fierce warriors preaching the purity of the Imperium and scourging their enemies with bolter and flamer. On a distant world, the Ecclesiarchy outpost of Sanctuary 101 was wiped out by an implacable foe - the fearless, soulless necrons. Now, a mission of the Sisterhood has returned to reconsecrate the site - but the metallic nightmares still lurk in the darkness, guarding a secret that has lain dormant for millennia.

Historia
It's no secret that liberalism didn't always live up to its own ideals. In America, many people were denied equality before the law. Who counted as full human beings worthy of universal rights was contested for centuries, and only recently has this circle expanded to include women, African Americans, LGBTQ+ people, and others. Conservatives complain that liberalism empties the common life of meaning. As Francis Fukuyama shows in Liberalism and Its Discontents, the principles of liberalism have also, in recent decades, been pushed to new extremes by both the right and the left.

The Indomitus Crusade continues its war across the stars. The primarch Roboute Guilliman has finally broken through the orkish threat bedevilling the sectors near Fenris, and makes ready to push on his bid to stabilise the Imperium Sanctus—but old and bitter foes stand in his way. Kor Phaeron, the Dark Cardinal, threatens the previously stable core of the Segmentum Solar. Waves of rebellion instigated by his infiltrating priests suggest an imminent, large-scale invasion by the Word Bearers Legion.
