Exactly the kind of story I am on the lookout for! Smutty as hell, fun storyline, good and loving relationships! Just wish there was a way to have long lasting relationships. For me it’s the love and passion expressed through the best smut that I vibe with the most!

Unequivocally in the top 10 of this genre!

Story is weaving a far grander tale than I was expecting. Foreshadowed things that I missed are now apparent after finishing; leaving me wanting 100 books more in this world and from this author! The love, connection, and intimacy of the MC and his lovers are both the main focus of the story and yet fit snuggly into a larger unfolding tale of the setting in the background.
Love, intimacy, romance, spice, and connection are all well done in this series. Wish a bit more spice was present, maybe one or two more scenes per book, but the scenes that are here are very good. I like descriptive scenes and since it’s not a visual medium; I also like it when the characters talk (dirty) during the bonding to add depth. This book/series does that.
VA is almost perfect: no real complaints, just one gripe. The Female VA’s voice for Seriel (no clue how to spell, only listened) the elf lover of MC is a bit slow and airy, which gives me a weird vibe compared to what I think she was going for: that of a immortal, elegant, and angelic being, hundreds of years old, like Tolkien’s elves.
Seriously love this series! Need more from the author and definitely need more set in this world!

Love the egregiousness of it all.

Likes:
-insane fanaticism of people around the prince.
-MC who has to turn course of his new life slowly(ish) to appear “normal”.
-the perverseness of the setting and servants.
-hints of decent world building.
-MC is level headed(ish).

Dislikes:
-VA’s are a bit mid. Male VA had better quality of sound and vocal range. Female VA needs better audio quality and range, but does well in spice scenes.
-story kinda meanders without real purpose.
-names are hard to remember, especially of the side characters of the peerage.(lady this, lord that)
-though the story is raunchy, MC is almost chaste the whole story…

Truly fantastic story. Depth, violent, sensual, hate, and love all wrapped together.

Female VA : 4/10 (has no depth and seems like a robot in how monotone she can be sometimes)

Great slice of life with hints of grim-dark. Felt like “Legends and Lattes” mixed with “The Lost Reavers”.

Fantastic prose and great story to be told with them. Writing style and skill makes me think the author is either experienced or very talented. Seemed like a good story with spicy harem elements included, not just fan fiction.
This is my favorite kind of book. One where love and passion are the focus, not shying away from the excitement of sex and its importance in all things. Stories that focus on action — which can be brutal in scene and description — are accepted, yet you describe a union between people in equal detail and thrill, it gets flagged as adult and is shunned for some reason.
So I’m glad more intimacy, sex, and love are aspects to fantasy books like this and that violence is not the sole source of excitement for male-centric fantasy.

Honestly the most bland of the 4 so far, but still enjoyable! It’s like a filler arc for a great show: more boring but still good for fans of the IP.

Great character development and relationship focus

Focus on the relationships and romance was a good step in the right direction. KDR writes great plots and stories but can leave behind the relationships and character interactions that I read for sometimes.

Biggest complaint is that I could summarize the plot of this book in like 2 sentences, yet the book is 10+ hours long; so when I say that it was kinda boring and slow, you know where I’m coming from.

How about closing some loose plot threads for once as well, instead just adding more.

If the next book doesn’t feel like progress is being made along the main storyline and for the women I know will be added to the family then I might drop the series or wait for a sale and binge them when I run out of other things.

Those negatives aside; the story is good. Narration is excellent as always from SS. The little (but at least more than the first book) spice we get is great too! So if you like the drawn out machinations of KDR’s stories, then this is one for you!

Very good spice and setting

The premise is kinda cliche-ish but also very unique and creative. I don’t actually like the MC all that much, but seeing him grow the little he did gives me hope for future installments! I usually like these kind of books to fill a void of intimacy and companionship; so a plot where sex is transactional would normally be a red flag for me. However the MC seems to dislike that fact too and does everything he can to not cheapen sex and slowly is creating a core “family” to keep by him and resist the tribulations of the premise.
All in all, wished the MC was more relatable, but understand why it fits the plot. Will be looking for the next “season”!

Great story. Writing is on point. Characters are good and kinda all fit KD’s previous works vibes.
Only complaint is that there is only one real romantic spice scene in the whole book. Now I don’t need erotica, but I like a sprinkle of the intimacy between characters throughout the book, not just once.
