I've listened to books one through three and this story is mostly flat. The beginning has some allure in that the protagonist climbs out of his grave with an innate ability to absorb all life around him for nourishment.

After his resurrection, his hunger for something other than food is compelling but the journey from there isn't packed with breath taking accomplishments and feets. He has minor advancement in terms of strength.

He learns about the power he can wield but the way the author delivers it as borrowed power versus inherent power makes it fall far from awe inspiring.

His constant disgust with his choices and his decision to follow them anyway is a good rendition of the human condition but unfulfilling in this character. The internal conflict doesn't elevate the story because he wants to change, the reader wants him to change, but the author does not.

Ultimately the ending leaves more frustration than questions and interest. When it's finished, you're happy it over. Not because you're satisfied but because it's now out of the way and you can read something that's more enticing.

This was the most boring book in the series. There were segments that were drawn out with superfluous information that wasn't relevant to the immersion of the story. After 4 books you expect the climax be a satisfying pay out to the MC. Instead, you're left with a ruined orgasm that even few masochists would enjoy.

I first fell for Peter Kenny after listening to his wide range and variation between each character he voices from the Witcher series. His ability to voice these characters is based in the author's ability to give them life and Claire North has done just that, with the expansive as well as intriguing universe of Harry August. This book is worth the 1 credit and then some.

Ali's voice, description, and imagery are way more amazing than I expected them to be. I thought that I was going to get a gratuitous novel but instead what I was given was an insightful and well-read story of someone's life. intrinsic and entertaining. I would definitely recommend that you listen to this book.

The book is very technical. She illustrates a lengthy knowledge of reading practices and solutions but it's overshadowed by her medical explanations of how the mind works. This is good information but not precisely what the reader is seeking to obtain. The "steps" will need to distilled from the vast amount of data supplied. Which is unfortunate if the person that purchased the book was looking for steps to correct his or her comprehension.

What would have made Double Whammy better?

I am currently 1 hour and 41 minutes into the book and I have not mustered a giggle, a smirk, or a smile at anything that has been read. The readers voice doesn't fit the book if it's meant to be humorous. His voice is deep and strong more suited to a suspense style of book. He is monotone and no energy is given to the characters.

What was most disappointing about Carl Hiaasen’s story?

The fact that after an hour the story doesn't give much of a plot.
