Wow, the end brought me to tears

I read/listen to a TON of books, but it's really, really rare for me to be moved to tears as I was near the end of this story. It kind of snuck up on me, as there were some similarities with other of Riley Hart's stories, but this one really got to me. It was a sweet symphony of character development -- family, friends, and finding yourself.

Couldn't get into it. . .

The romance part didn't happen until nearly half-way through, and it was VERY insta!

It was easy listening, the world-building was ok, but I didn't really feel invested in the characters.

I quit listening after an hour...

I got tired of waiting for the main characters to actually meet, there was wayyy too much straight narration and endless details about the accident and survival drama. Maybe it would have gotten better once they moved past the drawn out observation of each other, but there was too much "telling" via the narrator and I had enough of it.

Darius was a hoot, I laughed a lot! Great listen!

Would recommend you read Thorne and Dash first, it will really boost your understanding of all the characters and the plot. I just LOVED Darius, he was such a curmudgeonly character, but totally hot and sexy at the same time! He made me laugh out loud. Greg's narration was perfect in delivering the comedic element, as well as the raw emotional dramatic scenes.

A cute little Valentine's shorty!

I developed a quick affection for the characters, even though the storyline was pretty basic. Other stories I've read by this author tended to drag, but I was drawn in from the very start and this one moved along at a good pace. Joe Arden did a great job narrating and adding another dimension to experiencing this book.

My first m-m shifter romance ... it won me over!

I've avoided shifter romances because they seemed too fantasy-oriented ... but I started listening without being aware (because I really liked other books by Sylvia Violet) ... and got sucked in! I ended up enjoying the story despite my shifter misgivings! I thought the narration was good and helped win me over!

Thought I knew what would happen, but I was wrong!

This quick listen was certainly not a romance, but packed a lot in and the twist at the end was a doozy! Narration was fine and matched the story.

Narration was wooden & stiff; mispronounced words

It was painful to listen to this book. The story was okay, but the narration was wooden and stiff. I had to speed it up to 1.5x to make it somewhat bearable. Words were mispronounced and there was no cadence or flow in the reading. I will not listen to anymore from this narrator, but would read more from the author's kindle unlimited selection.

An ok listen, but it didn't really grab me.

While the narration was good, the story was a mix of familiar tropes and scenes. I felt somewhat detached while I listened and never drawn in to the point that the characters and their love story tugged at my heart.

I listened to this as part of the Romance package and would not have otherwise sampled this author. I thought this was worth a listen and intend to try out more of his books.

Nicely developed characters, easy listening

The story held my attention and was easy to listen to, although it's a verrry slooow burn romance. Focus is on character development, mainly Mark's inner journey to self-acceptance. The social anxiety he has to overcome made the story line more memorable.

I wish there was an epilogue, though, to see the larger friend and family circle all together again. The story just ends after Mark and Seth get together, and the supporting characters only get implied future reunions that we don't get to share.

The narration was quite good and increased my enjoyment of this book.
