Koontz at his most violent
Revisado: 11-27-24
This is one of the most violent of Koontz’s books. While many of his “monsters” turn out to have worldly explanations, but not so for the Phantoms in this frightening book. A good read.

Historia
This stand-alone work is widely regarded as Asimov's best science fiction novel. Andrew Harlan is an Eternal, a member of the elite of the future. One of the few who live in Eternity, a location outside of place and time, Harlan's job is to create carefully controlled and enacted Reality Changes. These Changes are small, exactingly calculated shifts in the course of history, made for the benefit of humankind. Though each Change has been made for the greater good, there are also always costs....

Classic Asimov!

I sometimes had trouble following the technical parts of the story but it all came together in the end. Asimov is for serious readers of science fiction.

One of the best Cussler books yet.

It has a complex storyline, with lots of action scenes and believable characters. Clide would be happy with this one.

Historia
“You like it darker? Fine, so do I,” writes Stephen King in the afterword to this magnificent new collection of twelve stories that delve into the darker part of life—both metaphorical and literal. King has, for half a century, been a master of the form, and these stories, about fate, mortality, luck, and the folds in reality where anything can happen, are as rich and riveting as his novels, both weighty in theme and a huge pleasure to digest.

Mostly good stories
Revisado: 06-08-24
This book has some very scary stories that I really enjoyed. However, others were less satisfying for those of us who prefer King’s scary tales. In the final analysis, anything he writes is worth reading.

This is a gripping adventure chock-full of "you-are-there" moments. Fluckey has drawn on logs, reports, letters, interviews, and a recently discovered illegal diary kept by one of his torpedomen.

Historia
In 2008, nine mountaineers failed to return from a winter backpacking trip in the New Mexico mountains. At their final campsite, searchers found a bizarre scene: something had appeared at the door of their tent so terrifying that it impelled them to slash their way out and flee barefoot to certain death in a blizzard. Despite a diligent search, only six bodies were found, two violently crushed and inexplicably missing their eyes. The case, given the code name “Dead Mountain” by the FBI, was never solved. Now, two more bodies from the lost expedition are unexpectedly discovered in a cave.

Fascinating mystery, good story, poor narration
Revisado: 09-27-23
This mystery was more about Corey’s FBI assignment, with Nora adding her archaeological skills to try to solve a cold case that had baffled investigators for 15 years. The mystery was complex and interesting, and written in Preston’s and Child’s unique style. I was enjoying the story so much I was able to focus on the story and try to ignore the poor narration.

Once a rising star in the art world, she finds refuge in her painting. The neighboring island of Ringrock houses a secret: a government research facility.
