Historia
Katniss Everdeen, girl on fire, has survived, even though her home has been destroyed. Peeta has been captured by the Capitol. District 13 really does exist. There are rebels. There are new leaders. A revolution is unfolding. It is by design that Katniss was rescued from the arena in the cruel and haunting Quarter Quell, and it is by design that she has long been part of the revolution without knowing it. District 13 has come out of the shadows and is plotting to overthrow the Capitol. Everyone, it seems, has had a hand in the carefully laid plans - except Katniss.

I loved this so much!
Revisado: 03-31-25
Again- having such a good reader is key to listening to a good book. But even though I have read all of the books with my daughter many years ago, my husband and I started listening to the books during long car rides, or at the airport, wherever and whenever the opportunity presented itself. I still cry at the end when - well I won’t say because it might be a spoiler- but a wonderful ending to a wonderful series. Now on to Haymitch’s story!!

Worth the wait!!
The story brought out some “ah ha!” moments, tying in past and future story threads.
Great performance too!!
I have read all the books but enjoy listening to them on audio as well. I was so happy with the narrating. I was familiar with the actor, and he was such a perfect fit for this!
Well written, well read, and well done.

Great performer
Revisado: 02-27-25
This book and most of the series from book 2 and on, should have been in 1 book. But each book ends in the middle of a story so we have purchased all of them- this makes it the most expensive book I own. But after reading Little Britches, a favorite since I was a child, I really wanted to see how he ended up! I just wish it hadn’t begun and ended in the middle of essentially the same story.

I’ve never had to make myself finish a book like this because I really wanted to like it. But I had to rewind over and over, as soon as I realized I hadn’t been paying attention, it just didn’t hold my interest. It wasn’t engaging. And the reader seemed very AI.

I could see it in my head- the story was so rich in detail.
Revisado: 08-29-24
Having read all of the books and having seen the movies, my now grown up daughter bought this book for me, which I read before seeing the movie. But after seeing the movie, I wanted to read it again and was having a hard time fitting it in so I bought the book on Audible. My husband actually began listening to the book with me and it was better than the movie and even a little better than reading it in print. It was fantastically read and very rich in detail. I am now hoping that there will be more books in the series. Job well done!!

Historia
Daphne always loved the way her fiancé Peter told their story. How they met (on a blustery day), fell in love (over an errant hat), and moved back to his lakeside hometown to begin their life together. He really was good at telling it…right up until the moment he realized he was actually in love with his childhood best friend Petra. Which is how Daphne begins her new story.

I disliked nothing!
I love how the story is just brilliantly honest. The characters jump out very soon into the book and they just keep getting better.
The narrator brings the characters to life and is able to change her voice seamlessly during the dialogue. I will be looking for more books by the same author and I will also look for books that use this narrator too. Incredible!

Finally, Volume 2, the second installment of the "Harry & Meghan" series, is here! Be one of the first to read this #1 New Release and follow-up to Volume 1, also a #1 New Release when it launched in 2021, examining the next phase of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's historical move from the UK to California. This mini-biography is the first to be released since their daughter and American-born royalty Lilibet “Lili” Diana met her gan-gan Queen Elizabeth—and much of it is told in their own words. Reads like a poison pen letter.
Revisado: 05-09-24
This book is nonsense and easily disproven. I was hoping for an insight into Harry’s family life but instead, it’s the same he said/she said blah blah blah that could be read on any given day in the tabloids. So (to be fair), when I was about halfway through, and was thoroughly sure that this novelette had been in tabloid leaks and gushes in the past few years, I did just as I do when I realize I’m reading gossip clickbait and stopped reading it. No thank you.
