I simply cannot say enough how good this series is! The characters are wonderfully developed, and the story unfolded seamlessly. Superb listen for any Sci-fi fan! Narration was excellent as well!

Just could not finish this for several reasons. First, using virtual voice instead of live narrators is a TERRIBLE thingand please for the love of all that's good about reading, STOP using it Audible. Lastly, the female character simply lacks any sense of anything...totally. Ugh..

Loved the development of the characters and how their lives were inevitably intertwined, for good or bad. Even though the book was lengthy it didn't feel like it. I am ready for the next one please!

Sex, sex, and more sex...

Sex, sex, and more sex...that is about what makes up the first several chapters. There was not much of a storyline up to that point. Except of course the fact that the main character was going to eventually become involved with four (?) different males for, of course, more sex. I really wanted to like this book, and don't get me wrong, a steamy sex scene can be a good thing, but there has to be more to a 'story'. Not for me.

Other reviews mentioned the fact that it took a while to get into this book, and that gave me hope that eventually I too would reach a point where I could connect with the story. So, I diligently kept listening. Unfortunately, it never happened for me. I thought the story made little sense and until the very end I was still waiting for that 'ah-hah' moment, which didn't happen. I feel like I wasted good listening hours and a credit on this book. This book i gets a hard 'NO' from me. On the upside, the narrator was great.

Witches, dragons, and creatures of all sorts abound in this fantastical story! I really enjoyed the first book of the series (and the first for me by this author). The narrator was excellent! The accent is perfect for the characters and I am eagerly waiting to start book number 2! Happy listening to me!

I really, really, really wanted to like this book...and I tried...repeatedly...but I simply could not tolerate the narrator long enough to finish the book. In fact, I couldn't get past chapter 2. I have nothing to say about the storyline, plot or characters because literally the only thing that comes to mind is the 'finger nails on a chalk board' voice of the narrator. Ughhh...

I was looking forward to another installment in this set but the narrator killed it. The narration was good while reading the story in her normal voice but the whining little girl voice used for the main character was like nails on a chalk board. Cringing now just thinking about it😕. I tried to finish the story but finally gave up.
