Iain could list out the number of ways he’d survived one catastrophic event after the other, but it would just remind him how tired he is. Sadly, the old saying is true: there is no rest for the weary. That isn’t to say there haven’t been high points, because he’s had more than a few. One of the latest and greatest of which was dealing with Robin’s ex-husband.

great story to a classic anime cliché

Couldn't finish due to being harem focused.

I very seldom don't finish a book, but this is sadly one of them. Nothing, including the first part of the book, indicates the very strong harem focus. I did not expect it and have no interest in books of that genre.
The basic premise and start of the book are great, which makes the switch to harem even more jarring.
If you like the harem genre you will probably love this one and the audio performance is great, but if it's not what you prefer you should probably look elsewhere.
I might have felt differently if it had been clearly indicated, either in genre tags or in the book blurb, or at least it wouldn't have felt like a bait and switch.

Iain knows which way the RGHIA are leaning. Human life to them is just another inconvenience on their way to total domination. Jerks. It figures though. It isn’t like the System is suddenly going to cut him any slack even after turning the city into a caged death match. Hell, he would’ve settled for a breather, but no such luck. At this point it’s clear the System or the RGHIA hates his guts—meaning he and his family are pretty screwed.

Not what I expected

Expected urban fantasy, but got old ladies porn. I seriously had to skip parts due to the never ending harping on about throbbing members.
Without those parts the book would have been enjoyable, but as it stands I'll chalk it up to a completely misguided purchase and never buy anything else by the author.
