Historia
For the first time ever, Archbishop Fulton Sheen's complete writings and reflections on Christ's last words have been compiled into this one book. Sheen shows how the seven words are, in fact, a full catechism on the spiritual life. From them, you'll learn the secrets to living the Beatitudes, ways to avoid the deadly vices of anger, envy, lust, and pride, and how to cultivate the heavenly virtues of fortitude, prudence, justice, and charity.

Historia
Pope Pius X's catechism is a rather short book in which he provides a Roman Catholic understanding of the Christian faith with a question and answer format. The book was issued in 1908, and was reaffirmed by Ratzinger in 2002. The book has three parts dealing with faith, the Ten Commandments, and grace. It also lists the most important prayers for Catholics.

Cultish
Revisado: 07-30-24
This is SO cringe and cultish: the catholic church is infallible, the pope is infallible, and they say that you must go through them to get to God, and if you doubt them, then you go to hell. Pretty much the same as Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, and Jim Jones.

Booker T. Washington fought his way out of slavery to become an educator, statesman, political shaper, and proponent of the "do-it-yourself" idea. In his autobiography, he describes his early life as a slave on a Virginia plantation, his steady rise during the Civil War, his struggle for education, his schooling at the Hampton Institute, and his years as founder and president of the Tuskegee Institute in Alabama, which was devoted to helping minorities learn useful, marketable skills.

Historia
Lost and forgotten for more than a thousand years, the only ancient Gospel named after a woman apostle emerged from the sands of Egypt just over a century ago. Originally written in Greek early in the second century and later translated into Coptic, Mary Magdalene’s Gospel comes to vivid life in this fresh translation with contemporary reflections on the ancient wisdom of this recovered treasure. Note on the cover artwork: The title format on the front cover is patterned after the inscription at the conclusion of the fifth-century Coptic text of the Gospel According to Mary.

worst thing I've heard on audible
Revisado: 06-27-24
the computer generated translation reads the numbers for all the footnotes so it's nearly impossible to listen to the actual text fortunately I already heard it before and you can find it for free on YouTube.
the introduction was clearly biased when it presented the viewpoints for and against this text I would suggest you find another source for the arguments against its authenticity. I hope it was a blast for him because it was certainly a blasphemy.

Historia
Ignatius was a man discipled by the Apostle John, who was deeply rich in humility and wisdom. His letters live on, long after his death, and today we have the opportunity of hearing them! Friends, let us study the holy Scriptures, for this is the very thing greater than all earthly bread, but let us also not neglect the study of the very men that walked and lived in the days of the Apostles, for their wisdom and words are valuable to our development unto holiness and godly virtue.

a great man with a few heresies
Revisado: 06-20-24
the translation and the performance was really good I started listening to this on the road to get a little bit more of an IDF Catholic origins and I found that the talk things that are heresies to the Catholics and things that I think are heresies for example he taught that the people should choose they're bishops and that goes against apostolic succession which is the only court for the Catholic Church authority that can damn you to hell or forgive your sins or sell you indulgences but he also taught that you should do nothing without the direction of the bishop but that is in context of Christians in that era being fed to wild animals so you have to see this in nearly a military style environment because if you take actions on your own you might get another Christian's kill so in that sort of a situation kind of want to follow the chain of command and he also taught that like the scripture does wife should submit to their husbands as to Christ so the congregation should submit to the bishop as much of Christ and then again he mentioned that there are many congregations who don't have a bishop
there are many more interesting doctrines some that I agree with some that I don't but it gets you thinking that right now we know we have people teaching false doctrine and when Jesus was still alive before his crucifixion there was false doctrines there was false doctrines after he was resurrected and in the time of the apostles we know that there were people teaching false doctrines and in fact Apollos was taking a side by Priscilla and Aquila and taught things that he didn't know yet but Ignatius was teaching that if you believe false doctrines are you are being taught by someone who teaches false doctrines you're going to hell anyway all of this is really good and interesting and I look forward to listening to letters from other early Christian leaders

I've participated in a youth with a mission discipleship training school and mission outreach and I also experienced miracles at that time I believe it's a wonderful thing that God would allow us to be involved in such works and I believe these things will happen more and more when the branches are connected to the Vine and when we allow Jesus to be the head of our congregation instead of putting a human as our head

Historia
Recognizing the power of the new and trying to understand and promote the conditions that make it possible, the Greeks were the first to write about innovation and even the first to record a word for forging something new. In short, the Greeks "invented" innovation itself - and they still have a great deal to teach us about it. How to Innovate is an engaging introduction to key ideas about - and examples of - innovation and creative thinking from ancient Greece. Armand D'Angour provides lively new translations of selections from Aristotle, Diodorus, and Athenaeus.

Historia
The ancient biographer and essayist Plutarch thought deeply about the leadership qualities of the eminent Greeks and Romans he profiled in his famous - and massive - Lives, including politicians and generals such as Pericles, Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar, and Mark Antony. Luckily for us, Plutarch distilled what he learned about wise leadership in a handful of essays, which are filled with essential lessons for experienced and aspiring leaders in any field today.

Occult Feminism: The Secret History of Women's Liberation dives deep into the occult roots of the movement, detailing the lives of some of its most prominent figures and the esoteric beliefs that inspired and motivated them. Since the 1970s, everything we learn about the history of the women's movement has been subject to gatekeeping by radicals who run women's studies departments in universities. But there's an entire history that has been obscured from public view.

excellent references and history
Revisado: 04-24-24
the book is a must read and share with other people type of book. she put in a lot of research. the only downside is that the author is an Orthodox Christian who believes that Jesus made Peter the head of the church while the scripture clearly teaches that Jesus remains to be the head of the church and I can see some truth that she's pointing out in the many denominations of Protestants how some of them have gone very far astray, and so from her faulty perspective as an Orthodox Christian I can see how she comes to her conclusion and this is much because she like most every other Christian doesn't know that the word Christ is the Greek translation of Messiah and the Messiah is God's anointed king and when Peter proclaimed Jesus as that Christ that Messiah and the son of God this is the gospel and this is why you're going to read throughout the scripture the gospel of Christ or the gospel of the Kingdom but this has been lost because Catholics and Protestants and orthodox they all want to put themselves as the head of the church instead of Jesus and you could see how this is even natural even the 12 apostles were arguing about who was going to be the most important in God's Kingdom and they argued about it.
but other than that the book was excellent.

In his decades as a globally recognized teacher, Richard Rohr has helped millions realize what is at stake in matters of faith and spirituality. Yet Rohr has never written on the most perennially talked about topic in Christianity: Jesus. Most know who Jesus was, but who was Christ? Drawing on scripture, history, and spiritual practice, Rohr articulates a transformative view of Jesus Christ as a portrait of God’s constant, unfolding work in the world.

Completely Antichrist
Revisado: 04-23-24
the woman at the well tells you the meaning of the word Christ she says I know that when Messiah comes who is called Christ he will explain all things to us you can verify this by looking at the Septuagint and if you look at the story where David is running from King Saul and he hides in the cave and he had the chance to kill King Saul he says that he would not lay his hand on the Lord's anointed or the anointed one if you look at the Hebrew in English into linear you'll find the anointed one is Messiah and if you look at the Septuagint you'll find that it is Christ or christo but this book has turned the word Christ into some nebulous combination of spirit and physicality that's the punchline and he says it at the end of the book but the entire thing is just full of one heresy after another I can't believe the Catholic Church hasn't defrocked him but what he's preaching is some sort of combination of Buddhism and new age this book is poison
