Victim Mentality, Racism, & Wokeness
Revisado: 04-03-25
I honestly liked this story. It portrays dark aspects of American history that can be difficult & thought provoking. But, what it doesn't address is taking responsibility for your own actions. If someone wants to talk about slavery, then address the whole picture, not just on sliver.. Every culture & every race has some form of racism. Unfortunately, it is a part of life. The difference is how you chose to deal with it.

Her instincts are soon proven correct when another...

Virtual Voice Does Not Work with this Book
Revisado: 10-16-24
It is really hard to listen to this book using Virtual Voice. The chapter headings are in Roman Numerals. Virtual Voice does not recognize these and reads them out as C-H-A-P-X-X-I-V. The author also uses AAVE (?) for a couple of characters, which Virtual Voice just sounds wrong. I don't know how else to say it. I understand what the author said but it did not flow.
